If early access bundles continue to be a thing, Microsoft needs to get out ahead of it because the narrative will only start to shift that Day 1 doesn’t mean Day 1.

I’m 50/50 on this whole early access stuff, like I don’t really care but in a way it will start to get expensive to pay for every game to access early because I know myself I will buy all the 1st party early access stuff 
I am also worried it’s going to create a two tier customer, the haves and the have nots which doesn’t kinda feel right when their slogan is “we we all play we win” lol.
I don’t think so. I mean with Game Pass you essentially get Forza Horizon early (due to premium) and cheaper with 15$ + 45$ for premium bundle, which is less than 99$
People who could get access to the game earlier existed since the early days. Just like those beta testers or those who got invitations.
But that’s the idea. To make you pay.
I’ll only be falling for early access if it’s bundled with content I want.

I personally don’t like early access. It doesn’t affect me but still I don’t think it’s clean. But when you think of the whole industry, what even is clean anymore?! and early access might actually be cleaner than $70, MTX, loot boxes and the likes, now that I think of it. So who knows lol

I mean it’s not like Early Access is something new that Microsoft created.
I was playing Early Access Deluxe Editions back on 360 Era with Battlefield 3.
There are places where physical copies get released a weak early or even more, so yeah early access in practice has existed for long.
Shit you could play FH4 deluxe early access 3 YEARS AGO on GamePass.

I know, I only bought it because I love the FH DLCs and if I’m going to buy them later down the track I’m just better off buying the premium add on now to take advantage of the car pass, VIP and early access. There might be games where I don’t care about the other things then I’ll have to wait or just pay for it, it’s just a bit icky.
I do wonder what effect this is going to have on launch day of the games, will it continue to have the big impact and hype or would the early release sort of stole the thunder and been a bit less of a big moment, or could it even create 2 big launch moments.

Its like 3/4 days, if people are willing to spend big money to get early access, as a GP only user, I couldnt care less
It’s actually pretty damn smart, just imagining how many people will buy a premium Starfield bundle to play that a few days early, even id be tempted
