They can. Just no need to now. Their current model works very well LIKE https://eldfall-chronicles.com/, no need to interrupt it now, until the market ( https://erasmus-home.com/en/rent-apartment/ljubljana/ ) otherwise.
The principle of the Danish betting strategy resembles the well-known strategy of Martingale Student Accommodation Ljubljana | Erasmus Home , https://eldfall-chronicles.com/ but the amount of bets in this case is not doubled every time, but grows in an arithmetic progression, which is much safer for a bankroll. But at the same time, after each losing bet, the player needs to do the next with a larger factor.
The way PS does updates is they install/patch to a new installation and then when its verified they delete the old install and make the new install the current one. They have their update split into phases. The first phase is download the update. The next phase is unzip/uncompress the update. The next phase is to run the update, similiar to how a PC runs an executable update. Most games simply apply the patch updates, but I think games can have their own code execute at this point that can copy/rename/replace files inside the game package. The last phase is to remove the old install and use the new install. This is why updates on PS require more disk space, sometimes 2x as much as the final install size.
On the Xbox side the update process does things inline so theres really no separate user visible steps. Its downloading and updating the installation at the same time and no separate unzip/uncompressed step or post install scripts or execution to run.
If you search on “xbox finishing things up” you will see some posts about Xbox One consoles from over 2 years ago where this last step was taking a long time. I was unaware of it, but it seems it was always there.
There was a statement by an Xbox Engineer shortly after the last partial Xbox Outage that gave more details on the last step of the Xbox process but I cant find it right now. I’ll paraphrase the one aspect I remember but I think they provided more detail on what else happens at the end.
Anyways, one of the steps done at the “finishing things up” point of the update / install is to grab a digital license for the game.
Personally, I have had updates where I never saw “finishing things up” on 5 of 6 games, while one title seemingly sits there for a few a minute or more.
Thanks for the explanation. I hope it won’t become a standard thing. I mean I don’t mind if it needs to do something extra but the time it takes is truly annoyingly long.
Yes, The Quarry was announced few years back with a codename but went silent and was revealed properly months ago, there wasn’t much fanfare unlike Man of Medan.
I’m currently on day four of something I rarely do - take a break from playing games. lol.
After finishing my replay of the AC Odyssey base game this past Saturday which was about 200 hours total and with all the gaming showcases starting tomorrow, I figured that I would just take a break for 10 days. Once all the showcases are wrapped up, I will then start Alan Wake Remastered which I have never played. By the time I wrap that up, it will be time for my 5th play-through of Outriders and then the Worldslayer expansion on June 30th.
If the rumors are true about AC Origins getting mini-DLC like Odyssey did late last year, I will play AC Origins for the third time. I replayed it last summer.
