Nah canât say fair when Somerville is 7 too (buggy and stuttery and overall undercooked game), that said itâs also not the same reviewer so itâs not the same scale. Eventually, again, review numbers are irrelevant without context of whatâs written in the review.
only 18% of consoles sold were PS5 and XSX

Honestly at the beginning of the XB1 gen Xbox had a bunch of games that would score higher had they released now. I donât get how Control gets all the much praise while Quantum Break was mixed. Same with Sunset Overdrive, now it would likely be 88 average. The scrutiny for Xbox One affected the reception of the the games early on, people and some journalists/reviewers wanted to pile on Xbox scrutiny as much as possible and negativities were highlighted more.

Halo MCC was arguably one of the most broken game of last gen and it still got an 85 on launch. shrugs

I think reviewers werenât actually much aware of the problems at launch (either connectivity was better prior to launch, or probably they just focused on the campaigns and the overall value of the collection etc. and that wasnât faced with the other main issues. And Halo is a loved popular IP with nostalgia attached to it.
Right, but itâs worth pointing that some distrust in the reviews scores some Xbox fans have comes from a place and a reason before even if itâs not present now.

Yeah, it is one of those cases where a mainline series (or remaster of the beloved trilogy) wonât have low scores.
Reviews are dumb, just play what Tim Rogers tells you to play.

In the article it is mentioned PS5 as being the full 18%. So either they made a mistake or the Series X didnât get a single sale this Black Friday.
I think Xbox Series S deal contributed to that but I think Xbox Series X is included in those 40%. Microsoft just sold a lot of Series S consoles.
