No idea, i signed up shortly after they listed sign ups and I have been a Bing user and Microsoft customer for pretty much all their products, not sure if that helps or is just a coincidence.

The original quotes from Phil Spencer seems to be referencing specific games that had a positive effect from being on game pass not saying every game ever will sell more, thereâs absolutely a lot of games that have benefitted from being on the service.

Edit: seems like some engineered outrage to give fanboys some more stones to sling. Willing to bet Otherera has a thread going about this topic with all of the usual suspects calling game pass unsustainable lol.

Itâs also more complex than what theyâre stating. One should need to factor in other aspects such as additional Game Addons like DLC or Cosmetics. Those could see a boost since consumers may feel more inclined to pick them up since they didnât spend anything on the base game.

Is anyone seriously surprised that people are going to purposefully take Philâs words from 2018 out of context? The sensationlist headline writes itself, hungry to feed the clicks of fanboys desperate to disparage Game Pass in any way possible. The success of Game Pass really hurts the identity of certain folk.

Plus what is even the worst case scenario here? Any losses in game sales would be covered by the subscription fee for Microsoft or the up front cost paid to third party developers - selling more than you otherwise would have on top of that is a bonus not a necessity.
