They sure did LOL. I’m not sure why they didn’t call Assassin’s Creed III Remastered the “Revolutionary America Collection” or something like that. Liberation isn’t a minor DLC like Freedom Cry, it’s a full-length standalone game.
But then there’s a lot of issues with Assassin’s Creed nomenclature that bother me. The first five games had either a number or a subtitle. Then Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation has both, I guess to indicate that it’s a companion piece to the main game Assassin’s Creed III? Even though they’re barely related. But then Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag completely threw out the rule book by being a numbered main game and having its own subtitle. And then of course they didn’t call the next game Assassin’s Creed V: Unity but dropped numbers altogether. These are the inconsistencies that keep me awake at night 
They’re sort of cleaning things up in retrospect by removing the numbers from the titles of Liberation and Black Flag I guess. But still!
