I get it though. I’m the same throughout the generation but once I start the next generation, I simply move on because I know that im never going back to previous generations to play them.
Does it have a main story with an ending? Like for Final Fantasy XIV I would count finishing A Realm Reborn as +1, expansions like Dawntrail a +0.5. Just doing dailies and patch stories etc. wouldn’t count for anything.
To my credit, my steam account is 22 years old and I used to play a lot more PC games. Especially back in the day when Steam sales were legit bangers. I have so many games from Steam sale bundles and early humble bundles.
I have been buying digital Xbox games since the 360 era as well. Though my library was more of a mix with physical until the Xbox One, that is when I went all digital on console.
Another good Sony game, but a bit overrated in my opinion. It’s also remarkable how many of their first party games share the same gameplay tropes. Climb some walls, shimmy along cliffs, squeeze through gaps, do some QTEs, and repeat infinitely to stretch the game.
It does keep it just this side of annoying, though. Barely.
I liked the combat in that game and the voice/mocap performances but once I got to some crate-moving puzzle in a mine or something, I gave up on it. I just didn’t really care that much about what was happening. Not a bad game just didn’t grab me enough to want to finish.
