Doubt it’ll be released this year, announced this year is probably likely though.
Sounds more like an early 2023 release to me. But definitely a reveal this year.
Trivia: they announced Judgment sequel in March 2021. I won’t be surprised by an end of 2022 release.
Was kind of hoping for Kenzan/Isshin/Dead Souls Kiwami, but I guess maybe later.
According to this reddit post Yakuza 0, kiwami and Kiwami 2 are back on gamepass.

I have a question. I have tried to give Yakuza multiple tries but its always bored me, I am guessing its just got a slow start, how long is that start?
Yakuza games are kinda notorious for having slow starts, I’m assuming you started with Yakuza 0 which has a very slow start. Once you can freely explore at your own pace the game really opens up.

I played Yakuza 3 1st but gave up in chapter 3 but when Yakuza 0, 1 and 2 came back into game pass I decided to give it another chance and I its just been really slow (I am playing yakuza 0 now). How long is that start?
I can’t remember but i think by chapter 3-4 the game opens up and you can start doing side quests and mini games as you please.
An interesting fact about the famitsu article is that when they talk about the new city, they use the kanji 街, used for developed towns, instead of the kanji 町, used for towns or small portions of land. This, and the design of a Yakuza JRPG, made me hopeful for a big city like Isezaki Ijincho.

Interesting, i wonder how many towns will be in the game, it’d be great to have at least 3.
Isezaki Ijincho will be there for sure, since Lost Judgment plot gave some clues on how things are between the three factions of the region. I don’t think RGG is ready to put Kamurocho apart, so this makes 3 with the new city.
Hopefully they will find a way to put Haruka and, consequently, Okinawa in the new game.

I love Kamurocho so I don’t mind that it’s in every game. It wasn’t used too much in YakuzA LAD anyway.
