is it just me or has most of the Netflix produced anime been really underwhelming, like alot of them are either low budget or just feels rushed. B the beginning for example had a really excellent season 1 and season 2 was just bad. Spriggan is coming soon and I am kinda worried.

I think the only Netflix anime series Iāve watched so far is Beastars and I thought it was good.
i dont think beastars is a netflix production. I gotta double check on that. I think they got exclusive rights for the worldwide release.

I dont think Netflix āproducesā any anime . They just buy exclusive streaming rights and stamp Netflix anime logo on it .

I mostly refer to what they call Netflix original anime. They work with other teams who are in the industry to release original content. I agree they just slap netflix on there with minimal work done. Some shows however are more involved, as they were produced specifically for netflix like Record of Ragnarok and Pacific Rim The Black
Looking at that list , only 4 or so anime are actually āproducedā by netflix e.g Dota anime . Record of Ragnarok is not produced by netflix as the production Committee for that anime does not include Netflix . So most probably production judged that the anime is going to flop hence sold the whole thing to netflix.

Yeah! Although from my understanding itās a controversial topic on whether itās considered an anime or not.

well by definition it is not anime since its produced by powerhouse animation studios (a non japanese studio)

And the more āhardcoreā anime community i guess. I donāt even think Castlevannia is on MAL.

In general there are really shit anime out there and there are great anime out there. Why would the quality ratio be any different on any particular service than another? In general, I like having wider variety even if that may not be my thing than having less choices.

lol it isnāt. I was just thinking itād go down a rabbit hole as these usually do. And this is still better, there was one about someone getting mad or flustered that Arkane was even mentioned in passing on this thread which somehow implied the poster believed it to be anime hence posting on this thread. I was like no, twas just posted on the thread treating it as a shorthand for all animated stuff cuz we havenāt demarcated that into separate threads and moreso, anime just happens to be the most popular form of animation at least outside disney/pixar whatever so who gives a shit, letās just chill.
