Every new update I’m tempted to get on this game, but I’m already playing Marathon. It would be hard to paly 2 extraction shooters at the same time.

I had very slim interest in Marathon but a few things turned me off right away. First is that it’s more hardcore than casual, second is that it’s more PvP focused than PvE and third but perhaps the most important at least for me is that the game resets your progress every season.

Resetting is a no-go for me. Arc Raiders gives you the option with the Expedition mode (3rd opportunity starts this Tuesday with the new update) to carry a few thing over but basically start fresh. If this was mandatory, I wouldn’t have bought the game because with almost 600 hours in the game doing runs (on the surface time, doesn’t include when im in Speranza), there’s no freaking way in hell that I would do everything again. I have done everything and as of now, only need to find one blueprint and everything will be completed not including new content this Tuesday and beyond.

Also, I do prefer third person and the realistic visuals of Arc Raiders over first person and the art style that’s in Marathon.

The main thing for me with Arc is that I never get bored. I always want to do another run and have fun every time. Plus, while some runs may be similar, no two runs have ever been the same.

And before I forget, Arc has aggressive based match making so if you’re someone like me who since the start of this year after finding this out hasn’t attacked anyone unless attacked first, it’s great knowing that 95% of the time, I can do a run and I won’t have some fucking asshole shoot me from behind like a fucking chicken shit coward. It’s so much more relaxing and enjoyable. It’s like, I’ll run into other Raiders and they’re just doing their own thing just like im doing. It’s great.

But in general, I agree that having multiple live service games isn’t easy because im currently having a growing backlog due to the fact that I don’t want to get behind in Arc Raiders. I want to stay current. So in this aspect, I 100% agree with you.
