Billbil-kun: New PS5 Digital Slim SKU Sees Decreased Storage

Interesting. So Xbox raises $100, keeps the same storage. PS raises $50, shrinks storage (but also has the cheaper SSD expansion method).

These companies using small hard drives feels like shooting yourself in the foot. Casuals will resist impulse buying games because they don’t want to delete their main games. I personally think Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox should all subsidize thier consoles in some way, but none of them do that either

Xbox did at launch with the Series S (they took a loss with every sale). Really I’m surprised that didn’t take off more with casuals and non-gamers. It was tiny, light, and cheap. And still able to play all current and last gen games and any backwards compatible games. Feels like marketing missed an opportunity by not going hard targeting non-gamers. And now the Series S is just straight up overpriced from tarrifs.
