Crimson Desert hands on previews and impressions(and console footage)

First some base PS5 footage of the game and itโ€™s said that fps is between 40-45fps. Hopefully VRR can do its magic for us with Xbox and PS5.

VRR only works at48FPS and up on PS5, Xbox should be good, but for me depending on the frame time this game could be unplayable.

Will checkout the videos later.

Hail Xbox, again, haha

Oh also, the devs apparently have sent a console version to DF so that they can analyse it.

This is the type of game that I will buy on a whim one day then not play it for years, then it gets a next gen upgrade that fixes all its shortcomings, then I play it.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Style.

I guess we should get something soon, probably just PS5 though.

โ€œThe first impression is that exploration constantly presents distraction.โ€

I adore Skyrim because of exploration, if they nail thisโ€ฆโ€ฆ.

Iโ€™m never really explored in Skytim, when it did happen it was mostly because of a quest, or I needed to be somewhere fast and got lost.

Unfortunately one time I did, end up costing a couple of merchants their lives. Because Lydia ran by their camp in Solstheim and when I found them later they instantly aggroed to Lydia. Who ended up killing all of them with no trouble.

Maybe the Xbox version, as Xbox has the marketing rights.

I see, good ol Lydia eh? :sweat_smile:For me personally Iโ€™ve spent hours doing this, in Oblivion too. Iโ€™d be on a (side)quest walking in a forest or just a field and Iโ€™d stumble upon something and before I knew it i was chasing a different side quest or some other cool activity. Then Iโ€™d find a entrance to some cave or dungeon and eventually find cool loot in there. If CD provides this a lotโ€ฆ.this shit will be my jam.

Hopefully, because so far I only see talk about PS5 version. Sony on their site has given some info on what PS5 and Pro versions will be like. Hopefully DF gets to analyse Series X.

I guess it could be like with Cyberpunk, where Xbox had the marketing rights.

Testing out file uploads

I canโ€™t argue with that. Because this stuff right here is what really needs to be either optional and can be changed or should just not be done like this. This sounds pretty annoying:

That control scheme sounds horrible. I can definitely see it getting docked points in reviews for a bad control scheme. Everything else sounds great.

Well, there are a few more โ€œconsโ€ possiblyโ€ฆ

Arreks said he didnโ€™t find any side quests. But I canโ€™t imagine this game not having any. And story and characters so far seem to be its weakest link, with introduction to characters feeling messy.

Jorraptor says the game world doesnโ€™t really feel alive and is more like a MMO. But then again, this game did start development as such, didnโ€™t it? It probably wasnโ€™t going to be easy to completely turn that around.
