Some of my concerns seem to be true, plenty of reviews mention a lack of balance and cohesion and you have to chase a lot of the fun, grinding and whatnot. As it stands it’s the kind of game that I can see myself being into if I had all the time in the world and only it to play and lose myself into.

Great review Jesse!

I will probably like this game a lot, but I will wait and pick up a fully patched and content complete version way down the line

I just got done watching ACG’s review as well and he adores the exploration, has tons of praise for the game but also does recommend to wait a bit for the cons to get addressed, such as game bugs.

I am in no rush to get this, got KCD2 lying around first, also busy with Witcher 3 B&W, but sometime this year for sure!

It’s the best review out there. You’re the only reviewer that went in depth on trying to explain many of the mechanics, the buttons and why it seems to be clunky and the different systems. It tells me everything I wanted to know. Although, I can see how the experience can wildly vary from one reviewer to another from how you engage with some of the system or not. Discoverability seems to be the key word here.

I feel like I will like the game, but also be frustrated with the mechanics and probably the difficulty, but I know for sure it will be the game I will play for a bit once or twice a week for the rest of the year, while it is fixed with patches, and I’m absolutely fine with that.

Definitely one to pick up in a sale down the road, after they’ve hopefully fine-tuned some of the systems. Good review!

Thanks Jessie for a great review. I preordered this on Xbox because it’s PlayAnywhere. I’m downloading Crimson Desert on my gaming PC now with the Xbox App. I can’t wait to try it. I love The Elder Scrolls Online so I’m used to grinding and fetch quests. I can’t wait to play it tonight!!

Exactly! Because there definitely are some things that could get very annoying, bugs of course but also that you can’t always skip cutscenes and since bosses can be a pain and you’ll die you have to watch it again and some of them last longer than a minute. Can definitely see that getting annoying.

But I gotta admit. Had it not been for my backlog with especially big open world titles i would’ve bought this today.

Yep, watching and reading more reviews, and for sure this seems like a game that has the potential to be an all timer with some more fine tuning and fixing, and changing some design aspects, and I think with them being an MMO developer, the game should actually be able to evolve and have significant changes down the line moreso than maybe the traditional single-player release.

ACG rated it “Wait for sale”, as in “wait for patches”.

Yep and FightinCowboy in his review said that the devs are listening to all the bug reports and they handle it quickly. So that’s very nice. Apparently they are very active on Discord.

We can’t deny the hype is real! Less than an hour now.

Xbox Play Anywhere trailer! We need more of these.

The balanced mode was 40fps with raytracing, right? Or was it quality 30fps with raytracing? Either way. Hope it’s stable and crisp looking on X.

Streamed a few hours today, balanced mode looks/feels good

Performance mode is really blurry on Series X.

Motion blur hepls a lot with the 30 FPS if you can tolerate that.

Yeah looks surprisingly good, makes me happy. Was watching this video and this person first shows performance mode and then goes into balanced.

Balanced should be the mode that has raytracing too, right or is that quality mode?

I can now say confidently that it’s a dream game. We waited for that game all our life.

This game is insane, it’s doing so many stuff at the same time and it all works pretty well somehow. I expected more bugs and glitches, but nothing major at the moment.

I’m glad I didn’t watch to many gameplay videos before, as this game is full of surprises. Big things, small things. This game is throwing everything at you but it feels natural, I’m quite stunned by the depth of it. And when the game grabs you, it doesnt let you go. It’s addictive like an MMO!

I think this game will be talked for years and other games will be compared to it for a long time.

And to think that Sony tried to get this as (timed)exclusive but Pearl Abyss said

Thank the heavens for that.
