DayOne Community Hangout |OT14| New News? NEW THREAD

So, just noticed that if I spend 100 gold to respec the characters in BG3, they get back some resources that they lost, including magic slots that usually can only be recovered during long rest. I don’t know if this is just a quirk of playing on normal that’s removed in from harder difficulties, but it does act as short/long rest for everyone involved.

Way, I see it is a little different Xbox wants to expand the video gaming market by starting a new hybrid PC much like you have Tablets, Laptops etc. I’d say think of it like how Apple was able to use all their learnings from the iPod and video iPod to start the Apple phones or like how the android system now powers so many devices.

I could be wrong, but now that the daylight saving has ended, many news drop and/or reset (live/gacha games) are one hour less.

Gang Blast? That game won’t leave top 50 most played for a while now.

They’ve made a video with some french comedians. Not sure if they’ve done this in other countries, but it’s pretty cool.

… Hey, now that I can see it, they have definitely announced it but it’s almost ready. I have tried to get into Pillars before but it hasn’t quite clicked for me.

You’d think this would be followed as closely by gaming media as the ABK aquistion: how governments respond to Nintendo will have much further reaching implications on the industry.

The whole changing archetypes im metaphor is soo stupid and annoying.

Oh you enter a battle, I need you try everything multiple times, loose multiple times and then go to a checkpoint, change and try again

Really annoying

Me and my grinding soul:

I’m so used to tediousness in JRPGs it doesn’t even register anymore :joy:.

Ya, but this is not for me. After 15 hours I just uninstalled it

I tried to do all the battles in the dungeon but I just got inside the sandworm thing and it was a struggle to beat that and then rush through the section and keep dying over and over and then just going back to start is beyond frustrating

I don’t have the patience to keep up with this and it’s baffling how this is overlooked by reviwers

I was really getting in to it and it was a perfect xbox ally x game too.

It probably just speaks to the genre. Reviewers would’ve been coming off of Atlus’ other games which are pretty similar in the importance of preparation. When it comes to turn based JRPGs, it’s like that Geico commercial, it’s just what you do. Nothing wrong about disliking it, but I don’t think reviewers would have clocked it as a detriment. I know I didn’t. I need to get back into Metaphor, but I remember the Sandworm fight being a fun back and forth, and kinda easy.

Not saying there’s anything wrong with disliking, but I guess more the importance of trying games yourself (if you can) and watching gameplay vids. We’re all coming at games from different angles. Methphor is highly regarded as a turn based JRPG by people already super into those games. Things that they find fun and don’t even clock as troublesome, might be what keeps you from enjoying the game at all. It’s been a while since I used reviews because of this. I’ll usually just check the general vibe and otherwise hop in (the game) or look for gameplay.

I mean heck, I just got through Digimon. Constantly leveling, de-divolving for slightly higher stats, grinding, and min-maxing is my jam. I had so much fun trying to bring everyone to max rank with the archetypes to boost their stats a little and unlock more archetypes.

Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 are on PC with Game Pass apparently, but there’s no cross save or anything, it’s just the PC version of those games.

it’s better than not being available at all on the store. But I guess this means they’re not play anywhere.

I didnt have issues for being a turn based game. I still don’t think the archetypes system flows smoothly.

As per the game journey up till that fight, I finished every encounter but still was taking high amounts of dmg.

I was enjoying the game but amount of times I had to go back to a save point which is that ship at night or from the beginning of the dungeon is not for me. I feel like it’s not respecting my time.

I still think the world was pretty intriguing and wanted to get on the journey till the end but I had to stop
