In theory they have the official clubs, those stories news posts on the mobile app, and now game cards to do that: in reality very few games (devs/publishers) make use of any of the above.
For Overwatch 2 (now first party) the last thing in “From the developer” is from 2 years ago. That’s not great. Oh, there’s also the events app on consoles. There’s a lot of different ways to stay up to date on Xbox, but my problem is I don’t see them consistently used. Something to combine all these together would be great. But also just something to make devs/publishers have to use them to share the bare minimum.
For whatever reason Free Play Days titles that are only for GP subs are now showing up in the store with GP icon and appear in GP tab on console (albeit at the bottom of the list, if sorted by date added).
These Xbox ads are fun and weird in a good way, they’re just looking at it with ‘Xbox tax’ glasses, like everything Xbox or Microsoft do is dumb…
Sony’s ad ‘it happens’ doesn’t show you anything. It’s not even a game that exists, it is just a woman waking up in a truck on top of a building, but it’s Sony so it must be super smart. I guess that works if we’re talking about it, but as an ad it’s just not doing it for me.
Edit: I guess it complements the ‘unmissable’ ad, but yeah, I don’t know what was that.
I love the intro with the music and cosy medieval atmosphere. It is showing you, in a few minutes, the relation the 2 characters have in some really clever and simple way. It makes me want to get back to it. But, like the first one, the mechanics are a bit overwhelming and I want to be able to save when I want !!
Ugh, the comments on the “this is an Xbox” ads are just cringe at this point. Or even the Ninja Gaiden 4 helicopter one. Like guys you know this is just fun and just being actively against it repeating the same stock comments doesn’t make you cool
Speaking of ads, I’ve been seeing “buy once, play anywhere.” tiles a lot on the console homescreen and PC app and then it leads to the Xbox Play Anywhere filter for the store. I like that they’re ramping up Xbox Play Anywhere, but I’m not sure how they can make it clear and more well known especially outside of their own core audience that apparently takes it for granted. I don’t think people realize that Xbox is even the only console with free cloud saves. They could run attack ads just on that. Paying for Game Pass (any tier) now nets you cloud gaming for owned titles; paying for any tier of the competing console subscription services gets you cloud saves (a feature that’s basic & free on every other platform including Xbox). Would work even better if they drop paid multiplayer ahead of the next Xbox release to pull in more people
The GPU price increase is worth complaining about, but honestly all I saw was comments switch over from “Xbox has no games” to “Xbox is holding back next gen” to “Xbox has given up” to “Xbox is too expensive” .
I question how many people in the comments were even subscribed to GPU. If they were supped to core or standard they should just be enjoying the multitude of new benefits. I question how many were subscribered to any GP tier the same way I question how many played on Xbox or played games at all with the other copy & paste replies. People are mad when Game Pass is too cheap, when it’s too expensive, when the Series S exists as a budget, when they run “no console required” cloud gaming ads, when they do multiplatform, or whatever. Makes it a bit of a boy who cried wolf situation. Like if ANY of the comments I see would add the word “Ultimate” in their “Lower Game Pass prices” it’d add the slightest bit of credibility.
That’s so far the biggest annoyance I’ve come across. In these games I also like to mess around, just try out mechanics, so stupid shit like start a fist fight with npcs, just do non quest related stuff and then load save file when I’m ready to get serious again.
Can’t. Big bummer. And I’m also not a fan of the timer during conversations. I don’t see what good it does.
I think I’m playing BG3 wrong because so far Grymforge is becoming a murder every slaver I see situation, because when I try to talk to them, they decide to talk shit and threaten me or extort me which my respond to them is to kill them.
You know what, maybe I played my hand correctly there.
Edit: This build I’m using on Karlach is pretty fun! Probably won’t ever get as strong as shown off because it’s 2 years old and Larian have done balance changes since then.

We got my son Oliver the ROG Xbox Ally for his 10th Birthday. He loves it. So far he’s been playing Bully and GTA5. Both work great.
It’s cool to basically have a PC hooked up to the living room TV. I’m looking forward to putting “Double KO” on it. 2XKO will be a good test of its capabilities, exciting times. New console with new games
I know everyone focused on GTA delay news, but I did find the other news from 2K interesting, stating latest Mafia title did perform well to their expectation while BL4 did not.
