Turn based RPGs have it’s roots in real life in person role playing (D&D), card games, or board games where people take turns. If you approach it like a hamstrung action game you’re going to have a bad time obviously. TB RPGs are like resource management games where you collect, upgrade, plan, etc… The point isn’t the actual battle where you prove your controller skills, it’s just a battle to test your planning skills.
Also to be fair many action RPGs and even pure action games are what amounts to be turn based with free movement. When skills have cool down timers you are ultimately just waiting turns to use skills.
That’d be really cool. I’ve never really fired up Fallout 76. Also, for anyone with Amazon Prime the PC version (Microsoft store version at that) is free to claim right now.
Crazy that I’m rooting for one megacorp to consolidate another megacorp which itself has acquired many other smaller successful corps to become a super megacorp but is unable to sustain itself and is now a complete mess that we can’t just let fail or else it’ll impact too much than another megacorp to consolidate said super megacorp… hmm deja vu (many times over). Damn you late stage capitalism. Damn you all to hell rich shareholders.
Anyway yeah, I really don’t even see how that Paramount deal could pass. For one they’d be spending so much money after JUST merging with Skydance. Even if it’s from so many different sources, including the Saudi investment fund, that’d be like over a hundred billion to meet all their promises to pay more than Netflix and then also pay for the entirety of WBDiscovery (unlike Netflix which is waiting for the split (curious what this does mean for any future of cable though, some were saying that cable would come back with how expensive and fragmented streaming has become)). Then after that they’d have to get regulatory approval for like THE biggest aquistion ever which is also a hostile takeover that the leadership of the company being acquired didn’t and also basically direct competition in virtually every field now (movies, TV, streaming, cable television, especially IP, and even video games to a small extent). Paramount might have some weight with Trump and the USA approval process, but they’d need to get it from the entire world or have to do drastic stuff like sell WB content to another company in other countries or pull out of those countries entirely.
The community taught Bethesda a very stupid lesson with the last DLC, that people will say it’s bad if not accompanied by a huge patch. If they had just not patched the game since launch and then dropped a huge update with the DLC, it would’ve been considered great. People basically punished them for giving them more stuff for free and sooner. Beth learned this lesson and has basically held all updates since. That’s why the game has been dark. The industry taught them to just hold off on patches till it’s DLC time. As such, this will have a huge patch
It’s obvious they are planning something big. An update on how space travel and exploration work has been leaked already. They are working to improve the game experience, that’s for sure.
The game isn’t announced yet, so it’s a leak. Maybe just maybe it’s releasing at the same time. Think as when PS store leak happens and you don’t know if it’s also coming to Xbox. Wait for official announcement.
