“We’ll have to discuss things with MS to see what makes the most sense for Xbox”…is this a Game Pass moneybag bait or am I missing something? how expensive is the Xbox port that they consider not having the game there at launch? also it’s weird that they consider releasing the game on Switch 2 and not on Xbox.
The shooter game made by someone who already had an established fanbase on Xbox but decided to shun them for the PS fanbase who ultimately didn’t support his game in the end? Yeah I got that flashback as well…
Indeed, wasn’t he begging for positive reviews a while ago on Steam saying he’s game was being sabotaged. To me it looks like all the rumor was true they are in dire need of money and this stunt will not pan out for him. Certainly, will not be supporting this BS.
Wow. This will surely bring in the “number” he so desires, especially with the most casual platform user base in playstation that plays free to play games more than buying up games as well as a console that is dominant with first party titles that makethird party games look mediocre at best in nintendo, whoc can and will brick the console instead of reaching to another potential costumer base that that pc users have been both critical but also complimenting while having a solid ecosystem that is gronwing bit by bit despite what the media says.
This will most definetly go they way they “expect” just like Black Myth Wukong, no wait Wuchang Fallen Feathers, will once it releases.
Yeah my sarcasm is kinda high today. I know This is gonna end up bitting them on the xbox side one way or another like its going to happen to Wukong once Wuchang comes, which is evident that this is gonna happen.
What our community has been wanting the most is Co-Op and Console support, so we want fulfill those wishes as soon as humanly possible. We’re already hard at work on Co-Op so people can play Wicked in Multiplayer pretty soon. And after that the idea is that we’ll release 1.0 sooner than initially expected so that we don’t have to deal with the hassle of being an Early Access Game on Consoles. Wicked is already in a pretty great state, so by the time we exit Early Access, we’ll be golden.
And in order to get there fast, we’ll first support the platform that has the most users purely out of resource reasons. We’re a comparatively small indie studio, so doing a console port at the quality level we want is not a small task. Porting to Xbox means porting to Xbox Series X and Series S and that’ll take more time to optimize compared to porting to PS5 and PS5Pro. So we’re most likely going to do PS5/PS5Pro first and launch there in order to make fans happy and supply other ports later.
That’s literally all there is to it. And yes, we’ll need to discuss with Xbox and Nintendo what the best strategies are to support their platforms and their features in the best way possible and that’ll be an ongoing discussion.
So there’s nothing to see here, it’s just common sense with us having to make the right moves given the resources we have while making sure we give players what they want as fast as possible.
I call BS. To me it seems they want to release it on PS5 and later for Xbox as a Game Pass game. They don’t have a PlayStation audience and haven’t even tried marketing to them.
Playing through the West Weald DLC and just met the main focus of the DLC, Ithelia, on a side quest. I can see what people mean that something seems off about her model, but I think it’s actually way better than anything ZOS has done before.
I think with Ithelia ZOS was trying to experiment with better facial animations and even character models that they can implement in the future, but with the feedback they received. I understand that she looks off because of how different the work they put into her is compared to the usual stiffer animation that’s in ESO, but it sucks that people not seeing it would mean that ZOS is unlikely to try again in the future.
And Yves Guillemot from Ubisoft clearly misses the point, or well, nah, more like he knows full well what SKG means because his argument has nothing to do with what SKG is fighting for. What Alex basically says, nobody expects infinite support for a game, it’s perfectly normal that at some point Ubi or other big companies stop releasing patches. However, these games should always remain playable. So if a singleplayer game has a service, put some effort into making a offline mode.
If a particular game doesn’t work on a successor of a console, that is too bad, but you can still play that on the previous console. But if we go by what Yves says, that’s not a certainty at all.
