Definitely an open venue, as Xbox has done so already, and Sony being the industry lead means they will get less push back. While subs spending is on the rise.

The smartest move possible, look over the years at the discussion of how you need to pay twice as much to get a PC that’s similar to a PS5, very few people count the amount of money wasted by 50M players to play online over the 7-9 years the generation last, or the game price difference.
BTW can’t stop playing Mewgenics, not proud of the amount of hours i’ve put on it in just a week lol but it’s just that good and it has so much content, glad it’s doing great on Steam, seems it’ll be one of these very few games that manage to get more concurrent players on it’s second week than during the launch, not surprising.
Can totally see it being my GOTY this year, also what a banger of an OST it has, hard to get the songs out of my head for hours after playing it

Interesting article about the commentary in the FC series of games, and how much work the commentators (Guy Mowbray and Sue Smith) put into their “performances” to make the match sound natural and realistic.
I think sometimes people genuinely believe [Sue Smith] are in their bedrooms or somehow watching them play live.
Unlike voice actors, who need only do several sessions in the studio, Mowbray and Smith need to go into the studio all year.
"Now things are very different. Either recording or doing prep, it is part of my weekly routine - pretty much every week from November all the way through to the start of July. We might have a couple of months where we are not doing anything on it before the next edition comes out, then it starts again.
"It takes so long because for every single facet of the game that you could think of, we have to cover every scenario. It is so in-depth because it has got to feel and sound real - the whole point of the game is its authenticity.”
Do they deserve to be in consideration for voice acting awards?

No, they’re just replicating their day job and presenting in their natural manner. It’s not acting in my opinion.

They still have to act like they’re seeing the action - it’s not like watching a real match where their reactions are real and the stakes are too.
An actor doing a voice in a game is also just doing his day job, acting!

Yes, but they’re still speaking in the same tones and saying the words that they’d usually say. Not saying it’s completely easy, mind, but they don’t deserve to be on the same pedestal as Ichiban (Japanese VO) or Troy Baker’s Indy performance, for example.
Yep but I imagine it’s so much work covering all the variables and having to say things in such a way they can be clipped together randomly to match what’s happening on the pitch.
I’m not saying they’d win any of the awards, given games with epic stories are much more likely to, but just saying they’d probably be eligible for a nomination
