Damn. Not like they left on bad terms, so this isnât like âAha, should have stick with Xbox for FH6.â This sucks.
Amazon is seemingly downsizing their gaming investments, as Iâve also noticed the games theyâre giving with Prime havenât been as good lately
Todd always wins in the end
Wait. That game still hasnât released?
No, Hexe is the game slated next after Shadows, set in 16th century Europe and supposedly having to do with witch trials. The word is that it will be more linear and more of a classic style adventure than the RPG games. Clint Hocking is also known for particularly systems driven games like Far Cry 2.
I donât have any particular opinion about Hocking as a creator, but I hope the game itself is on track and this doesnât mean that it has to be delayed or retooled.
Wait, this isnât the mobile one?
The mobile game is Jade. Something weird is going on with that game. It was in a near finished state and ready to be released, I want to say like two years ago now. Then radio silence.
What Iâve been wondering is, once we get the next Xbox with Steam and everything on it, those prices are significantly lower than the Xbox and PS digital stores. Arenât they? And it the versions on Steam work fine. Whatâs stopping us skipping the versions on Xboxâs own store?
Also, will we get to tinker with settings when in Windows mode and using the Steam/EGS versions?
I donât think theyâre significantly lower though, there was an attempt to cash in on current gen early on (70 on consoles 60 on steam) but I think thatâs no longer happening.
The main thing steam had was more sales and game launches, sales wise consoles are thr same or sometimes better.
Prices depends on the region and publisher but overall Steam has better prices and more lenient policies you can abuse to get lower prices
So itâs steam pretty much allowing people to pretend theyâre from another region for cheaper prices? Iâm surprise they havenât gotten any push back.
You used to do that pretty easily on Xbox too but they have become more aggressive in preventing it, you can still do it and on PS too but itâs a lot more hassle, while Steam seems still easier
Ideally having more stores will force competition bringing down the prices on all storefronts (the default Xbox store). We might even see the Xbox store undercut steam since currently on PC the MS store takes a smaller cut than the 30%.
Is still easier? Thatâd be news to me. Changing regions on steam has been a pain for me since Iâm living in Japan. I have to make a purchase in Japanese yen and then the whole store switches over. It wonât let me change it back to the USA until I buy something in USD. And thereâs like a three times a year limit on something in how often I can do that. Whatâs really annoying is that people in Japan canât gift me games unless my region is also Japanese (which is what made me have to buy something to change the region).
Still easier than PS and Xbox, at least thatâs what the PC gamers I follow seem to do, making Ukraine accounts seems to be the current thing, but all the platforms have been aggressive in preventing that.
Jeez seems a lot of effort, I either just get it on CDKeys / Loaded or wait for a sale (for example Doom The Dark Ages just had a Steam sale at half the price even of Loaded, and Dragon Ball Fighterz was cheaper on Steam than even Loaded too, but then could get an additional discount on Humble).
But then even Xbox I can get great prices, between Loaded, sales and Microsoft Reward points itâs so much better value than my ex used to get on PlayStation where it had to be PS Store so best you could do was cheaper gift vouchersâŚ
