Who said come back don’t exist.
Oh my God … My Tokyo Drift crossover dreams are coming ever closer to fruition.
They can’t tease us like this and then NOT put those cars in the game!
Because we’re in the dumbest timeline, IGN’s top story is on the ‘State of Xbox’s studios’…. Yes, you read that right, Xbox, not Sony… the company that actually closed their 11th studio in 9 years, including one just last week..
Corporate media and the masses are so braindead, that is actually the top story at the moment. That’s not at all to say that Xbox hasn’t made plenty of mistakes, they have, but the target of the article isn’t even remotely in the same situation as Sony - who’s closed more studios, cancelled more titles, and have had a first-party roster that’s largely been absent this generation (all verifiable facts).
It’s weird because Xbox news is more of wait and see, not good or bad. Bluepoint news is undoubtedly bad news. No, it’s not to say PS is going down under, but a discussion can be made.
When you realize corporate media is all propaganda to serve their highest advertiser or some other nefarious need (see the Files and all the journalists/media execs across all industries), you’ll be better off.
Sony’s closure of Bluepoint is even more damning than people are aware of. We’re talking about one of the publishers most infamous for re-releasing the same content over and over (every major PS2-and-PS3 Sony title has received at least two re-releases (see God of War trilogy’s original release, the PS3/Vita HD remaster, and now the remakes, for example).
So the publisher who’s effectively provided cover for two generations’ worth of lackluster total output with remasters/remakes has Bluepoint working on a God of War service title, which is then cancelled, and somehow Sony can’t figure how to pivot the masters of remasters/remakes to a strategy they’ve been employing for 15 years…?
How fucking inept do their leadership have to be? And why is the media/zeitgeist not highlighting those facts (rhetorical)?
Baffled that karma has yet to really strike these types of people, to be honest.
You would think that, no? Wonder when it’s gonna happen though. Really curious about that.
I’m so close to just stopping following vg news. CEO of retirement age retires after the longest run as head of a vg platform. This has been predicted for at least a year. At the same time, one of his managers didn’t get the promotion. Time to analyze the ‘state of xbox’s studios’.
I dipped my toe into IGN land. The article is fairly straightforward.
The comments are curious, beyond the usual gamer idiocy. So much about closures and flops, when the article itself lists plenty of stuff that came out and was successful. It’s like what actually happens is only relevant if it makes you mad.
People don’t like MS, I get it, but it also seems like people are determined to be miserable.
People are obsessed with blaming everyone else for their problems whilst ignoring the source of the majority of their problems: the rich elites and the media they control (not arguable at this point if you’ve dipped into the Files at all).
The lack of self-accountability and responsibility, coupled with the enstupidification and fed-narcissicism propagated by said class has caused those of us with a working memory and a modicum of intelligence to live a cursed existence…
It’s still crazy to me how the closure of Japan Studio was swept under the rug like it’s not the most significant loss of an industry renowned studio in the past two generations, that probably is one of the reasons Bloodborne hasn’t been ported/remastered. To me there’s an imbalance in the “we care about the developers" narrative in the media. It’s the same people who make fun and dismiss Xbox studios but then cry at layoffs and closures etc. at the same time entertaining predictions about “who’s next" which is just gross.
“Support the devs” is mostly just a cudgel to attack people for not liking the thing you like.
