I think it will get a digital release as Series S is listed. I also would prefer not to deal with Limited run’s long timetable for doing things.

Sure is spooky in New Zealand at the moment.

What’s happening ? I legitimately don’t know.

Sony’s clearly doing well right now, so I’m hesitant to second guess. But I’m just not sure that this is the healthy long term play. The console audience to me is the audience of yesterday - and I say that acknowledging that I am included in that. Younger players are gravitating to PC and away from closed console ecosystems. When it comes to a franchise like Ghost or Astrobot, doubling down on console exclusivity is just committing to keep selling to that shrinking console audience and not expanding to younger players. It’s what Square is realizing with Final Fantasy - meeting players where they already are is what grows a franchise audience over time.

That’s just my interpretation - I’m just some dude who likes to play games on console, not an executive or industry analyst. So from a personal standpoint I’m fine to continue to be a part of the niche audience they’re marketing PlayStation consoles and exclusive games to. :man_shrugging:

Wolverine is not Sonys IP lol. If Disney says jump!, Sony asks how high.

Sucks, hope it’s not a 100% pull back but more on a case by case basis, i understand the risks of porting everything can be high when the word of mouth ends up being “but everything from Sony is just going to PC”

Specially now that more and more money comes from having people on your Store more than from selling games, subscriptions and MTX are the big moneymakers nowadays and they got the chance to grow their console player base if they convince the Xbox One/Series buyers to stay on console.

But at the same time it’s funny because games like Intergalactic have close to no chance to be profitable by themselves by releasing on just 1 platform, so Sony will have to lose money with some of their first party games so people get their console and pay to play online and buy the typical Fifa MTX, these are the times we are in right now.

Bit late to start pulling back from PC ports (or just having longer delays until them) - they’ve ported practically everything now.

And with their output now, oh no as a PC player I might miss out on a whole one or two games a year! /s

If it’s true what I’m reading about a preview event of Crimson Desert where people got to play six hours….it sounds pretty crazy. As in, their reaction is insanely positive, dare I say overly positive but I hope we got a winner on our hands here. We shall learn soon. Well, their impressions that is.

I guess we’ll see with Yotei this year

I’m still cautious about it, not that they’re faking anything, but things that you can only have an idea of while playing, like how it’s structured and the storytelling and everything of that sort.

I agree completely with you. And you can have tons of amazing gameplay systems and what not and it can be fun while it lasts….if the story or quests just don’t hit or more like flat out suck…..well, that would be a shame.

I’m also very curious how it looks and runs on base consoles overall because we’ve only see a few bits. I wouldn’t mind XSX footage.

I don't believe you April Fools Day

This… after Sony accelerated their PS5-to-PC release schedule with their two most recent PC releases, including the reveal that Death Stranding 2 will release less than eight months after its PS5 release. But I’m sure that fact, coupled with the abysmal PS5 software sales being buoyed by Xbox and PC will totally convince shareholders that’s a genius decision and isn’t incredibly short-sighted, as well as running counter to every metric/forecast in the industry (again, working memory and a modicum of intelligence does a lot in this world).

I’m sure this will turn out as accurate as his tantrum-laden “PS5 specs will be superior to Xbox Series X and the git leaks are all bullshit” stance /s

Ultimately bad for player choice. However, I bet xbox loves this. Means less of a chance ps makes a pc store. So one less competitor to deal with there.

Second, xbox’s play anywhere feature on pc/console/handheld will continue to stand on its own.

I’m not against people making money. But somehow the fact that it wasn’t just that they thought they were so talented they couldn’t fail, but they also had dollar signs in their eyes and were convinced they were going to get rich off of microtransctions, makes the whole thing even worse.
