DayOne Community Hangout |OT14| New News? NEW THREAD

My guess is Konami will have a digital release for consoles. The series S is listed which is an all-digital console.

It was a joke about Resident Evil releasing early there.

Time to bash the old and bow down to the new.

After all the crazy ups and downs that Marathon has had, I’m ready for it to just be out so we can stop speculating about it

The UI is a nightmare. That would push me away from touching.

Lol can’t believe people are surprised this iteration of Bungie would have an overly complex UI with too much text.

These are the storytellers that went from an already complex but kinda cool sci fi story in the original Destiny / Destiny 2 and early expansions and began to make it so long-winded, twisty and drawn out over so many D2 expansions now that you’d need a Kingdom Hearts laureate to explain it all to a new user.

Not that they’d be able to experience it given most of the content is now removed and the new user experience is atrocious…

Bungie get away with a lot because ‘the gunplay’, a term nobody uses for any other shooters, ever. Meanwhile the cleanest shooter around, Halo Infinite, gets the side eye because there was a content drought 4 years ago.

I like Marathon’s aesthetic, the Amiga menus are fun. I also like the feel, and the obvious systems at work - lots of things to play with and learn.

But I’m not sure the genre is for me. I didn’t really like Arc Raiders, and I just spent 20 minutes wandering around, and died because team mate ran off. No doubt better with friends but something like Sea of Thieves is far more rewarding, for me, for the ‘session narrative’ and the sense of adventure, more than on a per match basis.

This year and the coming are gonna be horror shows

It will be quite hilarious if Xbox big shake up news end up being the least of the crazy news alas negative in compare to whats going on with media.

Since it apparently needs to be said. I assume this team still stands against Nazis, fascism, transphobia, and all the other forms of bigotry the elite have been peddling to the masses, and any claims to support these lie in direct opposition to the equitable, welcoming community this is meant to be.

Downplaying the very-real threat that many Americans are living through every day under the current regime is not acceptable.

Its such an insane existence to still be casual about about the Trump regime and what it entails for the entire world going forward,

If that is indeed true I think they’re shooting themselves in the foot. It’s basically free money and those people won’t start buying PS5s, they’ll just play something else in the current saturated gaming market!

I’d say the fact they’ve opened Pandora’s box is probably even worse as people will just now assume that it’s only a matter of time before Sony releases more games on PC.

Shooting themselves in the foot would be the name of the game. Sony has proven that they care more about keeping up the facade than the actual health and long term sustainability of Playstation. Sony has also made bad bets before. I think they’re trying to back pedal the entire generation (live service and PC ports) and pretend that they can succeed being as protective of their IP as Nintendo.

I’m someone that doesn’t really get fomo, and have only ever been excited about what’s coming to Xbox. I feel PC gamers are likely the same, not launching on PC isn’t likely to get them to buy a PS5 to play a game.

I empathize with people who scared. What’s happening to those that speak out and take action is awful. We’ve also seen this administration stamp out (or just ignore) legal ways to against them. Most people never cared for government in the first place, so I’m actually somewhat hopeful in how widespread people are with all of this. There’s been record protest numbers. My optimism is saying that people are more engaged than ever and pushing back against what’s objectively (like you can’t hide behind “political opinion” with some of the worst stuff) wrong.

There’s just too much to play. It’s not like all gamers turn to one game when it’s released, as gamers have tons of other stuff they can get their hands on that’s just as hype.

Reality is either they go get those extra gamers, or stay ultra protective of what they have and see it decline little by little with each upcoming generation.
