Not sure. People in reply for Insider Gaming are pretty triggered at the headline, since the game got increased for Xbox, but still the fact remains, the current owner is gifted. I think they are getting angrier by the day with Xbox good mood feel.
It isn’t crazy at all if you’re continuing to devalue your hardware ecosystem with it, 300 million isn’t worth millions of lost console sales in the future.
Shockingly even the faithful are asking whether PlayStation should have free online multiplayer, given both Helix possibly leading to Xbox dropping it and PlayStation increasingly launching paid live service games which require it and so do better on PC.
Of course some still fear mongering over hacks if Sony have to pay for online without being able to charge for it (as apparently they’ll obviously go straight back to cheap insecure crap - what faith these gamers have in the company they’re defending) and over PC gaming (cheating is now a lot better due to kernel level stuff and TPM2+SecureBoot like consoles, plus it’s all default config etc for games and much cheaper than console).
But there’s always going to be the Sony Defence Force anyway
It was easy to justify online paywall when it subsidized for consoles and 1st party even. Sure I pay $10 a month to play online but it also comes with some free games and it probably allowed them to sell me the console for $300. Now however it’s gonna look more absurd with $800-1000? consoles and $70 ($80?) games and so on…
I mean Xbox has a rather solid history with THQ Nordic. So i do not feel surprised by this.
Yep, and even if Xbox get rid I’d be staggered if PlayStation ever do
Woof, Crunchyroll net profit dropped 63% from previous report. It was around 1.239 billion yen. Now, it’s at 453 million yen.
Just up a couple post up and Sony got hacked recently, so the fear mongering is really not working out for anyone.
Smart delivery? I guess a remastered wouldn’t count, but Xbox set the standard for free upgrades on their platform and Playstation paid upgrades. Crazy the excuses people made for preferring the latter saying it made it “feel” more next gen.
We’ve been here before. Major deja vu.

Yeah same with cloud saves. Xbox made it free along with PC, but Nintendo and Sony still charge for cloud saves in 2026 (which is crazy to me)
$90 if you bought MK World physical baby
. It’ll be interesting to see what GTA costs. Gamers need to draw a line in the sand, but existing console gamers on respective platforms probably won’t. Xbox is the only one where gamers demand lower pricing.
But are they really devaluing the hardware ecosystem? We saw with Horizon 5 that after 4 years those millions of PS gamers weren’t switching. Exclusives have had decades to work and the number console gamers have been very stable (stagnant) on all platforms and raw sales per hardware generation have dropped from all console’s peak. Forza Horizon 6 is proving that it’s even bigger now than ever. Releasing on Playstation didn’t hurt the value of the game or the value of Xbox (people complaining online ultimately matters less than the people that actually speak with their wallets). Anyway what’s devaluing Xbox is the current production issues and their problems getting stock on shelves and the price increases and not having had any actual hardware upgrades since 2020. If they’re not even capable of making the number of consoles needed to sell to justify not making millions of more sales on PS then as a business they can’t realistically even think about backtracking on a promised PS release.

Xbox Play Anywhere and Game Pass launch confirmed

Yes it is. There’s a playable demo for Elliot on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2 and PC so you can try it out if you want. I played the Switch 2 demo last summer and completed it in about 6 hours. Was all in. Already have the game pre-ordered for Xbox Series X.
