They already said that today there won’t be any meaningful updates on the exclusivity matter, this will take time since it’s a very serious and hard decision plus we already analyzed the matter to death. We are missing the forest for the trees if we focus too much on the business side of things IMO, we should focus more on the games especially these days with all the new game announcements e.t.c. A lot of cool and interesting games are being announced/shown and they are overshadowed by the all this boring and talked to death business talk.
Why do we have to worry about Helix when it’s over a year and a half (at best) away and a ton of games are coming to the Series consoles? there’s plenty of time to know more about Helix and decide what to do with our next gen plans.
My position is simple if they screw with game pass further and remove day one games from ultimate. I’m going to stop buying games completely and start moving to Steam.
Question: Is it expected to see new announcements this week? Silly question, I know, but I’m not nearly up to date. All I know is that on the 9th we would get more deep dives of some of the games shown. I’m hoping we get news on that magician, Valor Mortis, and Vivarium games. I kinda do hope we get an Xbox first-look showcase focused solely on Persona 6. It just screams potential: green title with the Xbox logo being green, like come on.
I’m in the same boat. My purchase of Helix is contingent on Xbox providing me the most value possible. Exclusives don’t do that. I need to know that Xbox (really Microsoft) is all in for next gen and won’t drop any game other than COD from game pass or become like Playstation where they struggle to get out games or become like Nintendo where everything is super priced. I’m focused on backwards compatibility, game pass, xbox play anywhere (really it needs to be the norm if Helix is a hybrid pc & console), cloud gaming, a first party proprietary handheld, and continuined support increasing from devs worldwide.
Frankly, don’t care much for Game Pass, liked it before but learned its not for me. I am much more looking forward to backward compatibility and play anywhere. Those are things that significantly make me use Xbox as my main platform for playing compared to Steam. Game pass comes second to those two.
Those two are definitely what keep me confidently purchasing on Xbox over other platforms. If Xbox wants to compete in the PC minefield then it’s absolutely necessary that they have the absolute best game preservation and XPA really should just be automatic with Helix. Like I’m assuming that’s how they keep releases on Series X and keep the hybrid Console-PC itself alive.
