So whatâs the new development? Is it the rumor Crystal Dynamics wasnât proficient with EU5 and had been learning the engine as they developed PD? Because no one bothered to talk about that either.
Edit: Ah, I guess itâs the PD deal that fell through with Take2.
Actually, this instills some good news. Take twoâs interest in the IP even if they had to publish a problem game and Microsoft not selling the IP. If I had to guess the IP may just undergo a Fable like reboot with another internal team at Xbox. Perhaps they also have plans for transmedia. In any case I think we will be seeing Perfect Dark again once a really competent comes up with a pitch for it.
Decided to buy a physical copy of Gears Reloaded for my PS5 even though i have the game on Xbox just for funsies and beside the initial shock of playing Gears on PS i do have to say that playing with the dualsense really makes it the preferred way to play it. The haptics/vibration are nice especially when you reload and the sound from the speaker is a nice little thing (i know a few people that dont care about controller stuff and turn off vibration/haptics/speaker on everything but for me its nice for immersion). And since ive played the Gears campaign so many times anyway i had to have another reason to play it. Theres also a few other games that ive bought on PS5 over Xbox just cause of the controller (oh yeah, another thing is gyro aiming which is on PS and Switch but not xbox controllers). Anyways, it just makes me wish that Xbox had released that rumored Sebile controller. I guess the current rumor is that they are saving it for the Nextbox, but maybe they could have already released a âSebile 1.0â and then â2.0â when the nextbox comes out, but its all just rumors anyway so who knows definitively.
I donât think anyone doesnât believe in a Perfect Dark game or wanted it to fail, but a project that had barely gotten off the ground in like 7 years (a little unfair because thatâs including the studioâs formation, but it also had to have been considered as this studio would have had ZERO game output without Perfect Dark) just couldnât be sustained. If anything Iâd say Xboxâs greatest failure here is being too hands off. Not every studio is Obsidian. The senate will always NEED a whip, not a kind uncle, if itâs expected to get stuff done.
With old games undergoing modern engine upgrades like Elder Scrolls Oblivion and MGS Snake eater, it would be nice if some old games could be given a second chance. So far, we have seen the two mentioned and then also Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.
I think Advent Rising will be a good candidate.
Played this game on Back compart and it could really use the upgrade.
Shot in the dark: About 15 years ago give or take, I had a Master Chief skin in Minecraft. I just started replaying with my wife and I cannot find it. Were all skins on the 360 version of the game wiped?
Seriously, $1200 PS6 incoming? Not even joking. Like if 5 year old hardware is subject to price increases and HDD size reductions, I canât even imagine how they plan to make money on actual new technology.
Yeah, next gen hardware will be expensive. It was just reported that TSMC intend to raise wafer prices by 5-10% next year. Transistors are not getting cheaper anymore.
