Funny how when it’s Sony, all the econ professors come out to lecture us about how this is because of politics and the poor corporation has their hands tied. Again, not even that there isn’t some truth to that but it’s obvious how different the tone is when it’s Good Guy Sony doing something negative.

This is the generation where consoles were cheaper AT LAUNCH. Even the Nintendo Switch has gone up in price and this is after the 2 launched (also at an insane price).

The economy right now is worrisome, but also hardware just keeps getting more expensive as everyone chases power. And consoles have given up on selling at a loss with no new users. That’s a big problem with most everyone upgrading and libraries being stuck, they aren’t really competing anymore and users are less price sensitive. Game libraries are basically the hostages now.

Anyway, I really feel like the PS5 Pro starting $700 is the minimum. Pricing this gen is what brings me most around to a multi storefront Xbox. Maybe subsidizing cost just doesn’t matter anymore, and consoles are just going to keep being expensive.

As he says, this whole no quest markers, no guide is great, but also very hard to pull off. It’s either too cryptic where it gets annoying and you can’t figure out where to go. Or it’s always kind of too obvious. It’s not easy, true, but man I wish more games did this.

Ghost of Yotei is doing it via the wind or foliage I think blowing towards a certain direction, but will that be for any quest marker, side quest, main quest? And I don’t think such a thing would work for every game but hoping we see more of it.

A lot of games do this already, like Wuchang, Elden Ring for the most part(you can put your own markers down, and one shows up after a boss fight), Dark Souls trilogy.

A lot of games also let you turn off markers, so basically all I’m saying is that this isn’t a rare occurance.

But Elden Ring still shows a minimap, or doesn’t it? With Witcher 3 and RDR2 I kept looking at the minimap. And it’s true, in Witcher 3 you can disable everything on your map and you’ll just explore the world, and I tried this but it didn’t work for me.

In Yotei it seems you won’t be looking at a minimap or even markers at all, it should be interesting to see how that pans out. It seems in Hell is Us you still can use a compass, but I wonder how much further games can go so you don’t even need a compass or minimap, for full immersion.

Personally, im the opposite. Give me way points, map markers, icons on the world map, a mini-map, etc. because I don’t want to waste my time looking for the content in the game when I could be spending that time actually playing it. A nice on/off option for all this stuff would be ideal so everyone can play the way they want.

Started with Slime Rancher 2 and it only took a minute or two and already loving it. Thanks to Game Pass I became a big fan of the first game and that made me buy the sequel.

No mini map just a compass like Elder Scrolls, you have to open the map, to put down your own waypoint, but the map atarts out empty with no recognizeable areas. You have to find the map for each region, to get it to show up properly on the map.

Imo, we will always need a compass to know which direction were going. Or the people giving you direction will have give you more detail than, head east and once you get somewhere head north or south.

Also the wind in Ghost Of, isn’t exactly subtle from what I have seen, its pretty visible. I guess they could have changed it, but if it’s the same system from Tsushima it wouldn’t be something you can miss and go the wrong way(unless it’s me playing).

I don’t know why, but YouTube thumbnails generally annoy the fuck out of me :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess the exaggerated facial expressions and over the top drama / dramatic clickbait headlines just push a button than makes me fear for humanity while also welcoming its doom lol…

Nothing against the 007

But is it wise to showcase the game with tanking frame rate in its first showing?

On State of Play no less.

Is Playstation desperate to show up?

I can’t watch until later, but how is the lighting? As for frames, kind of, since it shows it’s real.

Just hopefully they get that under control before launch.

Yeah that, plus a rather aggressive motion blur at times. But this gameplay demo definitely made me more interested. It’s Hitman with action packed driving bits and shooting. I am glad it’s not a straight up third person shooter. The multiple options are cool, should make for good replay value.

No blood at all while blasting suckers with pistols, rifles and shotguns though…hope that was just for this demo. I dont expect RDR2 levels of blood but at least a bit.

I know what you mean, but this one I don’t find too bad personally and I quite enjoy his content. But there thumbs out there that just make me decide against clicking it.

Nintendo news starts at 13:43. Edit: So, basically Nintendo is banning people for buying used games that could have been copied, as they have a way to keep track of it.

Edit2: Wanted to add, if this does happen it’s possible to get your Switch 2 unbanned, but you need to be insistent to contact a person in customer support.
