Why is this SoP timing different I thought it was gonna be like always which is 10 hours from now for me usually

Castlevania on Game Pass rumor was not true then.

Could be at TGS. If not there, then it was likely a mistake.

I think it’s the type of thing that will hit all hardware.

Motherboard manufacturers may have another round of price increases ahead, as the cost of several key components continues to rise. According to Board Channels, motherboard production costs have increased by at least 10%, while the price changes introduced by manufacturers in August averaged only…

Damn. might as well cancel NextGen with the way all this is going.

Too late for that probably, I don’t even think Microsoft can make too big of a change on the hardware this late in development. Unless AMD is backing away to supply more chips for AI, so they can’t supply Microsoft with chips for Xbox.

It would also likely cost them more if things keep getting more expensive as they wait. As the prices are likely not going to go back to anything close to what we had before this bubble.

Guess they saw Wario64 tapped out to SoP double feature that they decided to split the two in separate days. But seriously, better this way, especially when they did with Mario, it felt like it should have been separated.

Does it even matter. Right now, I think the real avenue for Xbox is PC. The series X is now 800 dollars and I doubt it’s selling. Cloud is too expensive and they are now cutting back. It’s funny as many were saying cloud was the main cost eating into Gamepass and not COD, but it was easier to say COD to get it out of Gamepass first before bringing the real raging fire of cloud.

To me it seems they will struggle to sell NextGen consoles and so they will need to push hard on their PC front to have a chance, and they probably will be pushing hard with transmedia.as well.

Every rumor we heard before always pointed to PC being the shift that they were doing. But they would have their own refrence devices, that would be the entry level/most curated.

It’s only recently that news about Helix has come out that Asha has been wishy washy about it when asked. That’s while doing things lile PCBC, and Play Anywhere which would need the hybrid device to take full advantage if you don’t have a gaming PC.

I’m late as heck but this was funny. With Xbox & Nvidia now setting the normalcy for “pay a monthly sub for cloud gaming access & buy hour games separate” it really does feel like we’re moving to renting cloud hardware too. Especially with the current hardware prices.

A Plague Tale Legacy is basically everything I expected Hellblade 2 to be, in terms on combat at least, very different than the last and still a intriguing story so far, I’m on chapter 5, also way longer game than Hellblade 2, only that this one didn’t take over half a decade to make, if it started development after Requiem then it took around 3 and a half years, around the same as Requiem, this series is up there as one of my favorite new IPs from last gen next to Ori.

Surprised that he didn’t pick the same day as Fable but I guess he is smart enough to know how bad that can backfire.

Weird thing to say by Tim, after the fact, why didn’t he say this before Microsoft allowed them to go independent lol?

Also he said himself that being acquired by Microsoft practically allowed them to remain operating, honestly those acquisitions by Phil turned out to be awful decisions, even in hindsight Undead Labs, Double Fine, Compulsion were likely never gonna make anything worthwhile for Game Pass growth, Undead Labs could because State of decay always had potential but look how that turned out in the end…

Because they were still under Microsoft before they went back to being independent and had to play the PR game.

We literally had the head of id say everything was fine and they were back at the same number of people as when they launched Doom 2016. Only for a current disgruntled employee to break from the PR talk and say that they actually are not fine.

Of course tweets are going to pull out individual lines that make the tone of the interview seem more hostile than it was. Tim acknowledges that MS basically kept them afloat, says that the relationship was mutually beneficial up until MS changed their strategy with Game Pass. I really didn’t get the overall impression that this was meant to be “Tim airs his grievances against evil Microsoft.”

We know that Double Fine only exists still because they got financial protection from Microsoft in the last 8 years or so but maybe I just misinterpreted his comment.

To be fair if he was calling Microsoft evil I’d have no problem with that, they’re a very evil corporation after all but I probably just misinterpreted his comment, Double Fine only exists as they currently are because they had the financial protection of that corporation for the last 8 years.

I hate it.
