For some reason I thought this wasn’t coming out for like a while. That it’s out now COMPLETELY slipped by me.
Weirdly quiet marketing. I checked my email and Bethesda emailed me about it, but it wasn’t in the Xbox weekly newsletter. Usually they’d highlight first party dlc updates. I guess poor/busy timing.
I know I was surprised seeing this and thinking maybe it’s an update. It certainly was overshadowed by all the bad news and the poor marketing here is pretty scary if this is how things will be moving forward.

Doom the Dark Ages has had an unfortunately muted fanfare in general.
Agreed, I love TDA but the game’s marketing was shit and the price of the game was insane. Instead of showing how good and unique the game was id and Hugo spent so much time saying again and again (and again..) how TDA was not like Eternal (a game that sold great btw) and how more casual friendly it was plus they focused TOO much promoting the accessibility options (that did more harm than good IMO) instead of showing how fun the damn game was. Also the price of the game was crazy here in Europe, it was ~85 euros at launch here which excluding some Switch 2 titles it is the most expensive game I’ve seen this gen.
Anyway thanks for the review and the stream Jesse, great job as always! I installed the game yesterday and I am starting the expansion tonight.

I made a thread here a couple months ago saying that we’ll get big DLC campaign this year. They were teasing it every week on their livestream for the last 6 months or so.
This is really unfortunate.
