No one here really listens to Hasan do they???
Who is he? Can only find online a few questionable quotes, I don’t really watch stuff on Twitch or YouTube.
Only American Hasan I’ve heard of is Hasan Minhaj, his Patriot Act show on Netflix was great, reminded me of Last Week Tonight but a bit slicker
I do, while I’m not all in on his views, I think that his position on demanding more from our elected officials. Instead of just continue to letting them act as though everything is just business as usual.
Is one that more people should have, a good example is how democrats in office want ICE, BP and DHS to follow the law. Before they further extend funding for their continued operations, but what’s needed is to fully defund and abolish them.
As they’re actively ignoring the law and will continue to do so even if republicans agreee to the democrats funding conditions. As every bit of information that has come out about how they oporate tells us.
This one is a bit old old, but it’s pinned on Andrea Pitzer’s bluesky and it’s about the news letter she has started.
Recent story about Border Patrol(BP) misconduct that ended in a death. They didn’t physically attack him as far as I can tell, but they holding him in custody and force to release him. They left a legally blind man who didn’t speak English 5 miles away from his home and didn’t notify their family of his release.
This tactic is one that BP and ICE have been employing, where they arrest people through Kavanaugh stops(racial profiling, that Justice Kavanaugh ruled to legalize). Taking them into custody and keeping them there for days, before a judge orders the persons release.
But when they do they steal documents, which they demand immigrants carry on them, and personal belonging (wallets, passports, work VISA, cell phones, uncashed checks) before leaving them strand miles away from their home.
Recently the only reason one man got his documemts back was because the lawyer representing ICE, was held in contempt and was fined $500 a day if he didn’t return them.

I’m making light of this, but governmemts are currently pushing AI at an alarming rate.
Honestly though that’s probably the same level as humans if you put them through wargames lol - diplomacy / defusing a situation is often seen as “weak” after an initial attack so escalation occurs and no one wants to seem weak by de-escalating.
It’s why diplomatic relations and resolving conflict is so hard, and why they’re kept in separate government departments from the military lol.
Hopefully before we let AI anywhere near true decision making in these instances or we have a fully conscious one develop (if that ever happens) they’re much more evolved than we are…
Epstein Files related.
It’s a short video about the recent reports by journalist on their mistreatment at the hands of Israel forces.
For decades, Palestinians were expected to be kicked from their homes, humiliated, tortured, killed and ethnically cleansed in silence.
Like any other people you would expect them to resist, and the world to support them, militarily even more than politically, like we pretend to support any occupied and oppressed people. But they were an exception. They were not allowed to resist, any kind of resistance, not even peaceful protests, because that would be considered an unacceptable threat to the nice civilized guards on the fence of the concentration camp.
Before October, 2023 was the deadliest year for palestinian children in the west bank on record, no one cared.
The only reason people are just now pretending to care, is that palestinians decided that enough is enough, and the murderous colonizers got humiliated for a change.
People think they would have stood by jews and other oppressed groups against the Nazis, or that they would never condemn the slaves revolts. But in reality, most people follow their society, media, biases, and what’s safe and convenient for them.
It’s easy and safe now to stay silent, or both siding the issues, praying for peace and hoping that people would just stop being violent!
.. if you can live with that.
..
For people who think that Palestinians don’t care about themselves or their families, Norman Finkelstein paints the picture for the uninformed, and the questions “What should they do? What would I do?” don’t seem easy anymore:
When people realize the Israel-sized overlap in the Epstein files and the nearly-century-long genocide of the Palestinian people, maybe we can make some progress to an actual-equitable world where Never Again actually means something…
Yep for the vast majority, wealth begets wealth.
It’s why inheritance tax is a thing but is hated so much by the right.
Even something as simple as your parents owning their own home (and staying together or having enough wealth / opportunities to own homes after divorce) is a massive indicator of whether you will own your own home or be in the perpetually insecure existence of renting.
Without the long-term stable rents of somewhere like Germany, even having a good landlord isn’t completely secure as they may have to sell or pass away, and their replacement may kick you out.
And that’s before we get to the billionaire class, most of which came from already very comfortable families or have basically ignored laws and rules (the Silicon Valley “better to ask for forgiveness / pay a fine than it is to ask for permission”), stood on anyone they had to and have creatively accounted their money to avoid giving back to the society that helped them rise.
I’ve often thought you can perhaps have “good” millionaires - it’s possible they’ve created something really good and treat their employees well and pay their taxes (although many rail against any tax as “anti entrepreneur” so fuck those) but you can’t have a “good” billionaire.
To have achieved that level of wealth, even if you suddenly decide to give much away, you’ve generally had to be fucking ruthless and willing to screw over anyone in your way to get there - and it often shows by some of the complete sociopaths that attain that status…
Wasn’t there that ESports team which let AI make serious decisions (allegedly) leading to a heap of problems? I remember seeing that a while back. Regardless, the concern is when people think “AI” (or what we call AI) is smarter than them and able to make better decisions, so they offload their thinking and let bots, that literally just scrape the internet and synthesize answers, solve their problems for them. “solve” that is. I kinda feel like we’re already heading down that route. There’s been such a brigade against critical thinking, and people have already gotten used to believing whatever answer the internet gives them first.
Yep and given Twitter has often been one of the biggest open databases available to train AI, you can imagine the results and why Grok turns Nazi every few months lol
This one crosses over!
Edit: Discord just keeps showing it’s ass, lol! Also one of the big points is that the Police that arrested Darius are being funded by corpos and they have a reason to treat Darius buying scrap from a scrapyard as being a criminal offense.
