I don’t think Open AI has thought this through. If people weren’t cautious of their company and ChatGPT before then they will soon start to be. This opens up a massive can of worms and huge public perception issues.
I have to believe we’re approaching a breaking point; the powers that be are pushing into superhero comic book villian territory. Actually Disney villian territory. Straight to VHS Disney at that. I need to wait to see that because Google is Google and they’re already screwing up their ability to do a search to keep people on Google and force AI on them. Going so far as closing off the ecosystem while saying they’re opening it is something they would do.

It’s horrifying that is happening, escalating, and it’s all working. They’re just getting everything they want and getting away with it too. A change in administration along won’t fix this. There needs to be a major course correct if not cleansing in government.
Apparently they settled with Epic. According to their official statement they’re lowering the commission to 20%, allowing streamlined third party app stores, and allowing apps to use their independent payment systems (making Google play billing optional)
