Fable delayed to February 2027

Hard to argue it’s not a smart decision, sucks a bit because for now, late 2026 looks dry to me, but we might get something in the summer events.

Plus there’s a (very small) chance we’re getting WoW Classic Plus in 2026 i guess

I guess that means Xbox will only have 74 new day ones this year.

It also means I have nothing big to play at the end of the year, if I ever take a break from Starfield.

Nick redeemed??? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

who will save us from his cockiness this Saturday? :stuck_out_tongue:

Let Playground polish the game and release the best possible game they can! there’s tons of other great games to play this year anyway.

At the rate I’m going there’s just Starfield.

Slightly longer than a month ago they said it wasn’t. But things change… obviously.

Now GTA better actually release this year because there has to be an end to these delays, meaning both games.

Maybe there will be some new and cool announcements at the showcase, plus there’s always the mighty and eternal backlog.

Gears of War for sure, it has a direct after the Xbox show. Halo too I guess? I expect we see more of that soon too and should release this year, it’s a remake…which is fine, but nothing too shocking in my book.

Fable delay is disappointing, was really hoping for a good new look at the show(can still happen) with a concrete release date. The wait has been insane, to be honest.

Doooooooomed

YES!!! I’m so very happy. At least one thing has gone my way gaming related. Was always hoping for Fable to get delayed to February 2027 for several reasons. First and foremost, I want the game to sell extremely well and being within a few weeks of GTA 6 would definitely decrease those chances so now being three months later will help the game sell as best as it can. Second, after Hi Fi Rush (January 2023) and Avowed (February 2024), I love getting a Microsoft published game to kick off the year even if it means a short delay like Avowed and now Fable. It’s like, boom!!, here we go. Enjoy!!

Third, personally, I already have a damn backlog for 2026 (and earlier) so getting Fable out of 2026 is great since I know that it’s going to be around 100 hours give or take for me to go through the game. I have already have a packed Fall 2026 with GTA VI, Marvel’s Wolverine, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Gears of War: E-Day and who knows what else.

Side note: I’m not playing COD MW 4 until it releases on Game Pass so this won’t apply for me until then.

I’m also waiting on Kena 2, Tomb Raider remake and a few other games including the rumored Ocarina of Time remake. And of course, I have the massive major update for Arc Raiders in October (yes, im addicted to the game as it’s so fucking great!!) so getting a few delays helps me out a lot.

Smart decision, even though I am very much looking forward to it, but GTA 6 is going to be huge and this will give Fable more opportunity to be the main topic of discussion when it releases.

Fable will appear next week.

Also, it’s very likely Xbox got the memo from Take Two that GTAVI is happening and the whole marketing probably nearly ready to explode, hence the wishlist post.

And I’m likely to only be playing Starfield until next year or further, I haven’t stopped since the Free Lanes/Terran Armada announcement.

Anything related to other games has been me purchasing a game to play in the future. Or briefly playing Solitaire for the PC daily game.

Makes sense to delay in a vacuum… and yet they removed the new COD from Gamepass so in that context I can’t help but be annoyed. At least Stranger than Heaven is this year right?

GTAVI. Literally the nuke of gaming. Blame literally anything on this one if a game is delayed.

Bleh I won’t be playing GTA6 as I find the games overhyped crap for the most part - the worlds are often well done but the stories are meh and the shooting and driving is just unacceptable in the modern era, Driver 1 handled better on PS1 ffs.

I should have enough to play I guess, got FH6 and 007 at the moment plus guess I get back to Crimson Desert at some point (did bounce off it a bit) and KCD2, plus we’ve hopefully got Halo remake and Gears.

Black Flag remake I’ll probably try even though I generally preferred the more modern style from Unity / Syndicate / Origins onwards.

But it does feck me off a little, December is my prime gaming time as I have to take most of my holiday then, and often the December GP drops suck so I’m left hoping I’ve not finished games that arrived earlier (TOW2 last year and Starfield a few years ago got me through for example) or have to force myself to go back to games I bounced off of.

Feckin GTA6, it’s been screwing up schedules for years, I can’t wait for it to come out so it stops - and maybe it can do badly so we’re not screwed about by GTA7 in the future lol - I do suspect it may struggle in today’s culture war and influencer ragebait times, but only in reputation / online longevity as it’s still going to sell stupidly isn’t it.

I’m happy Playground take all the time they need, but Fable is definitely my most wanted game so to see it move for crap like GTA is just irritating, particularly as it’ll hit when I’ve less gaming time again so won’t be able to fully enjoy it as much

Look it at this way. Once GTAVI is out, we won’t hear about the next one for another 2 gens.

Yep lol, I’m hoping it’s such an expensive undertaking that it becomes fully live service so they never release another and just update it - so nothing has to avoid it ever again lol

If it finally actually hits this year.

Signs are pointing to it. But nothing is set in stone until it’s in our hands. We’ve been having this shit for at least a year or longer that games get delayed because of GTA and it’s just beyond annoying now.
