My father, may he rest in peace has always loved videogames, as in he loved them for me and my brother. He never played much himself but he absolutely could always appreciate when new consoles came out.
He bought us the SNES with Mario World when we were young, he waited in the cold with us to pick up a Xbox 360 from the store years ago. I remember he was the only one who had a HD TV and we saw PGR on it for the first time, also Kameo and we couldn’t believe our eyes.
Sometime last year I discovered a YouTuber who introduced his 70+ dad with Dark Souls, he only ever played Pac-Man before that in his younger years. It was very cool to watch it, because with his son’s guidance he managed to beat it and got good at it. In fact he beat Elden Ring already too and now he’s busy on Sekiro.
It’s awesome to see and it’s honestly wholesome. Really makes me wish my father was still around because I know he would’ve loved to see how far things have come. If he had been alive I might have tried to have him give a Souls game a shot as well. The YouTuber and his dad that I mean is this..

So yeah, do you have something like this with your father too? It’s honestly just so fucking awesome to me. These are the kind of playthroughs I can dig!
