The Multipla… ![]()
Really really interested to see this. The more real world racing games, the merrier!
I guess they wanted to say it’s Multipla-tform. OK, I’m out.
I’m cautiously optimistic. Cautious because plot driven racing games tend to be really cringe. That could be the good kind of cringe like Fast & Furious where it’s dorky but fun and quotable, or just bad cringe. The other reason is the possibility of police chases
… If police chase you between races and you have to hide to reduce wanted level, then this goes from a buy to a “wait for deep sale, maybe” for me. I just don’t think that’s fun.
looks interesting and expensive. i hope they find a publisher for their hard work.
but police?

Clutch is not a good name. Don’t feel good about this one, Amazon wouldn’t have pulled out if they’d seen something big there imo, but of course wouldn’t mind being proven wrong.
Looks good. Name is dumb. The first gameplay video will make or break. It feels like they are trying to pick their lane and stay far from Horizon comparisons, lean more into the Need For Speed crowd, which has been left in the dust. Good luck to them because it does look good!
I was hoping these people left Playground to make something new and interesting. Assuming, incorrectly of course, that maybe they werent interested in making car racing games forever.
Instead, they left to make temu Forza Horizon.
I’m currently thinking the idea was “wouldn’t it be cool if we smashed GTA and Forza Horizon into one game?!”.
If that is the case, very likely not for me - although they may have some fans as I guess some people like both…
I had exactly the same thought after watching it just now. The customisation is cool, and the story aspect could be fun if done well, but as a fan of both GTA and FH, I think I’m going to be well covered for the forseeable future.
Gameplay previews are dropping today.
Not sure quite what to think. The racing looks fun but the grappling hook drifting just looks too cartoony to me and I’m not really into getting out of the car to walk around and commit heists. I’m sure I will play this game eventually, but reviews will determine if it’s right away or like “Wait for $20” territory.
It feels like they’re trying to do too much in a single game - that GTA smashed into Forza Horizon vibe is even stronger here.
Maybe they’ll stick the landing and it’ll be an amazing game that’s very unique (it’s not a FH killer for example, it’s too different) but it’s going to be difficult to do - given I don’t even think GTA sticks it with their dev team sizes (their controls are still feckin awful)
There are things that look like it’s made by people who know their craft, it looks great and the cars and speed look just right, but I’m not sure about the structure, and trying to appeal to the GTA vibe when 6 is coming is certainly crazy. Can’t say they’re not trying to distinguish themselves, but it feels like the industry is saturated where before this could do very well but now… just wish them luck, they are clearly capable developers.
