Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Actually I remember the opposite. For a long time they said our most powerful console/Xbox and then when PS5 specs were confirmed it changed to most powerful console. I wouldn’t read too much into this.

The fact is, the hardware in specs IS the superior one. We’re just not yet seeing it.

When did they change that?

Immortals Fenyx Rising will have resolution and performance options on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. Performance wise, it’s 60FPS. I don’t know what the resolution is but it’s most likely dynamic. Can’t wait to get my Series X so I can play it and others. I’m acquiring a backlog!!! It’s not good. lol.

No idea.

yeah this game i forget about it’s name i believe it’s on Dec 3 so 7 days before CP 2077. you need to finish it quick lol

Their website has always said that since as long as I’ve been looking at the page…thats why I am asking when you think they changed messaging…and when you think they ‘knew’…Phil talked before launch about the state of their tools and how they weren’t where they’d want to be but they were better off than at Xbox one launch…all of which has been borne out. So they knew the state of their tools weeks before launch…and in reality months and months before.

Haha. I’m not playing Cyberpunk 2077 until next year when CDPR releases their next gen upgrade. I have the 5 games im set with for Nov/Dec/Jan. I just need the consoles. LMAO.

Honestly, I think this is a bad idea. If they have a few videos in a couple of days, it would be really hard to follow that in one thread. I immediately lost all enthusiasm for discussing their videos here.

I have no idea. So what you’re saying is that their marketing was a mix of most powerful console and xbox. Which wouldn’t surprise me, tbh.

This. I was bummed that Ground Zeros was 720p on Xbox and 1080p on PS4. Cue a year later and The Phantom Pain ran at 900p. Still not perfect but it was a noticeable difference and from there on out 720p wasn’t very common. Tekken 7 is the only game i can think of that was an outlier with 720p in 2017.

I like the idea. Keep all the DF stuff in one topic. I don’t want to see say WDL, ACV and now Dirt 5 all have separate topics but yet, are all basically the same. Better to keep it contained to one topic in my opinion.

I forgot about that. Didn’t COD Ghosts run at 720p as well?

I have been looking for this interview or article. Whenever I am in a comment section or other forums I can post it there. Because I see many people overall just flat out not believing anything about tools. Hell, even Tom Warren surprisingly.

I still think Xbox should mention this again, but maybe more “out in the open” if that’s the right way to describe it. Like on social media, in a brief talk with DF, something like that.

You happen to know which one it was?

IIRc, he never outright mentioned the GDK but that COVID would have a severe impact on their output. I think it was when he was grilled about Halo.

So glad this all has been merged into one thread now.

Think the reason people are upset by this is just because of shock. On paper the Series X has better hardware. Perhaps enough to brute force past software implementations, but that just has not been the case.

Either way, it’s an amazing console, and it’s not a big issue if it’s 5-10 FPS behind PS5 this year, let’s just hope it equalises a bit more next year and take it from there.

Xbox are going to release some amazing games in the next few years ahead and that’s the most important thing.

TL;DR: There is no need to be upset

Ghosts and Titanfall both ran 720p. I remember a lot of friends moving to PlayStation because they wanted 1080p.

Plenty of review sites say it is. :man_shrugging:

I guess that really doesn’t mean anything then.

Think Im gonna do this. I only play games once (with the exception of Mass Effect) and I wanna play THE version of Cyberpunk.

I also only play through games once and move on to the next game.
