Seems like id did a terrific job with every version. I wonder if being able to focus their attention on PC/Xbox will yield even greater results.

If anyone can create a DLSS alternative it is Microsoft Research team with Azure AI.

VRS effect doesn’t look so good for Xbox Series X…
Also, from VG Tech. PS5 keeps higher resolution more often than Xbox Series X.
A bit disappointing.
I’m not sure if you read that correctly.

You should reread the vg tech statement again, wtf

Didn’t see it and didn’t even know there was some. What does it say?
It says Xbox has higher resolutions in all modes

Try reading harder. It’s clunky wording, but Series X has the advantage handedly.
If anything, this is a showcase for the Series X, my opinion.

Fanboyish post from the guy which probably doesn’t even know that Sony just has some custom solutions in API its console. PS5 doesn’t use DirectX, so it won’t have VRS and other few things the same in 1:1 scale. They just have own things build on AMD architecture. That’s it.
No PS5 doesn’t have VRS hardware whatsoever. They have to use other means to emulate VRS Tier 1, but it is not just the same.

Try understand better that I’ve just original video with original description.
I’m not subscribing and following that guy and I’m just lurking his content from time to time, so I didn’t know that there was some update, additional statement for that aspect.

But the statement in your previous post is the one he is referring to with all the correct information that says Xbox has higher resolutions

My bad…
Last time when I saw that I memorised that as it said that PS5 had some more pixels than Xbox Series X in selected scenes.
So, summarising… Resolution is better on Xbox Series X, but some textures with VRS with much closer look are a bit worse.
The main goal of VRS is to lower precision is areas that are not noticeable under general gameplay. If you have to use a 400% zoom, this proves the point. In doing this, yes, you can zoom in massively and see a slight loss of detail, but it also frees up resources to allow pushing higher in other areas. In the case of Doom, it can push higher resolution and maintain higher frame rates.
Also, the VRS in use here hasn’t been tweaked. In my uses, I’ve managed to get VRS tier 2 to work with visually no perceptible decrease in quality on oblique angles, but still have enough performance overhead to make the usage worthwhile.

Hi Gavin, I follow your exploits on Twitter.
You’re very brave getting down into the muck like that.
