Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

This is my least favorite part. Saw another racer driving a BMW M3 E30 - whoa, I want that!

Car costs $60,000… I’m earning like $2k per race. That makes me feel like not bothering with the game anymore.

Just watched the DF video for NfS to the end. I think the open world works rather nice here and better like in Burnout Paradise or Midnight Club. But destroyed geometry simply vanishing looks goofy and not next gen, Forza Horizon 1 on the 360 did this better.

DF did not mention this but NfS Unbound is another next gen game where clarity was not very important for the devs. They just overload the picture with geometry. Maybe the HDR implementation contributes to that or how the picture perspective narrows down very fast but its so busy 100 meters in front of the car I often had difficulties seeing the next corner. Dirt 5 had the same problem. Forbidden West has a similar issue but at least you are not moving >100kmh in this game.

Yeah, its like the complete opposite of Forza Horizon or Motorsport where you are showered with cars. Maybe i’m playing NfS wrong but after the first week i had 2 cars. There is progression, and then there is grind. DF were also not very fond of this.

I think you only have to compare to see what DF said with Medium and now with Callisto to see they aren’t constant. Also , its also like VRR counts for nothing these days. I’m playing NFS on the Series X and not seeing any drops.

For this very reason I don’t consider there subjective remarks on the performance at all

I simply look at the data which they provide and make assertions from their

How were they not consistent?

When I doubt, there’s always this. Had not seen it before.

I don’t need to be showered in free cars Horizon-style but yes, it feels dumb to play for hours and not even be able to afford a second B or A class car.

Heat had the opposite problem where you could afford cars but the ability to buy them unlocked with your level, and by the time the game allowed you to actually buy something, it was too late to use it.

I’m no game designer but it feels like a 25+ year old franchise should not still be struggling to figure this stuff out. :stuck_out_tongue:

The racing can be pretty fun though.

That wasn’t smart.

He will regret this unless he blocks console warriors.

Haha yeah for sure. Something tells me that he won’t care much about this.

There will always be some games that have a slight edge on PS5 and vice versa. But that tweet does show how well XSX is doing compared to early months.

I also always find it funny how Sony fanboys always seem to want to show that their game is better. Yesterday a tweet from John about some cool tech in NFS and of course there had to be one pony to show a picture of GT7 that it did it better. And John’s reply was simply “and?”. Funny.

Too bad it’s a potato….

In all seriousness, I don’t play Fortnite (nor am I a fan), but I will say the game is a fantastic showpiece for UE these days and a great example of the technical evolution that can occur in a single GaaS lifespan.

Jeez, Luigi! It doesn’t even look like the same game I played 3 years ago .

Very impressive.

You can clearly see how the graphics in UE5 are held back by Potatoseries S /s

I didn’t expect it this early.

I know better, than to have a debate with you over DF.

Ok John rollsyes

If you’re going to make that claim, it should be easy for you to support it if it’s so true. Otherwise, you’d be admitting that what you claimed was nonsense.

Either you do that or stay out of the thread because you’ve been warned countless times and I have no patience for your continued trolling.

It’s only a quick look and not the full analysis. The changes look good though! I can finally finish the two expansions once this update hits.

Yeah, the RT difference is subtle but I notice it has a more realistic look than One X, I like that. But I don’t know if I will play in that mode much, it sounds like all the other visuals bells and whistles are for both modes. Making it almost a no brainer to go with performance mode.

I do notice one thing though, did they scale down the swaying foliage?

I’m all for a debate , but I know with you its pointless over anything DF.
