I’m not so sure about this anymore and I don’t think any of us can ever know for sure.
Dead Island 2 is another one, or at least it seems the further you get in terms of larger locations the more framedrops you get. Venice Beach is far from locked 60fps unfortunately.
DF said that all consoles do nicely, but made a point that it was a bit better on PS5.
Whatever the case is, it’s just not looking really great right now. It’s not just performance lagging behind PS5 in Jedi, the video makes that quite clear. Recently we had Ghostwire Tokyo and several more games. Last year things started to look good where Xbox at least was NOT lagging behind PS5, and at times superior but it really doesn’t seem like that this year with several big releases.
Sigh, as has happened several times now, we just have to wait and see exactly how much the dev will optimise further for Xbox. If multiplatform games are superior on Xbox, hey great, but I don’t even expect that anymore, but they really shouldn’t be inferior like this.
I’m sure DF will be right on this quite soon and I doubt it’s gonna be pretty. Overall I’m getting a bit tired of bad news so much lately, that’s really all it is for me.
RDR2 and Dead Island 2 in fact. I just want things for my platform of choice to be better. Just all around solid. Feels to me that when One X came out things were better, as in while not always edging out PS4 Pro, it wasn’t behind either.
Well they seem pretty upset/sad in all their posts about gaming lately. Maybe their emotions were misread, but I am not the only one reading it that way. I was trying to bring them a little happiness.
If you focus on the bad, then that’s your fault. Why do people forget A Plague’s Tale: Requiem, The Witcher 3 current-gen port, and Dead Space Remake? Three big releases and their best versions appear to be on Xbox.
And also, Jedi: Survivor is seemingly going to go through several patches, so sit back and enjoy the ride
I’m not questioning your intent, I’m sure it was good. I just have an issue with the “go play games instead” -attitude that are quite common whenever someone is bringing something up. It’s a bit condescending.
Some Jedi Survivor PC quirkiness which may be causing a lot more headaches for gamers. If you make changes to settings you should exit and restart the game!
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
What’s crucial to note here, though, is that the game has major issues when changing its graphics settings. At the end of the video, we highlight this issue. Upon disabling and re-enabling RT, our GPU usage, in the exact same scene, drops from 98% to 77%. And that’s precisely why a lot of PC gamers cannot see any performance increase when changing graphics settings. In order to fix this GPU utilization issue, you’ll have to close the game and re-launch it.
Witcher 3, are you sure about that one? In raytracing mode I believe it’s better, but it’s far from the ideal mode. Performance mode is the way to go and last them we discussed it, it wasn’t entirely clear which version really takes the advantage here. Plague Tale and Dead Space are true.
To be fair, it hasn’t been easy lately to focus on the good concerning Xbox. Redfall, Ghostwire Tokyo, ABK. Just as I focus on good things too like new releases such as Dead Island I also focus on bad stuff. Plenty of times I have posts with praise for things too. But the bad stuff can’t be ignored either, I think.
I say, on to the good news! Bring on Starfield Direct and the Xbox show.
And again, hasn’t been a great deal of good news for Xbox lately, that’s just the reality. ABK news recently, Redfall performance news, GT not exactly optimized great for Xbox while being a Xbox studio, just not a lot of good stuff.
When there’s good stuff you’ll hear from me too, I’m loving Dead Island 2 and I’ve been spreading the word, or lots of praise for RDR2.
Also, at the end of the day, this is the thread for games analysis, after all it’s called “time to argue about pixels.”
Does the game drop below 40fps on Xbox and below 48fps on PS5? Because if the 58 and 52 i’m seeing there is the worse than we don’t really have anything to worry about with VRR.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor is rough. 30fps mode is ok, performance mode can drop way below 60fps without the download patches. It has the same problem like Fallen Order with a pretty noisy image, probably their TAA solution.
It plays surprisingly good in 30fps. Cals is now a combat proven Jedi and his moves feel better, faster and more visceral. Me likey!
It does. My TV has a VRR range down to only 48fps. But im pretty sure there were parts at the end of the first level where the game was in the 20s in performance mode.
10fps! the worse I get in Elden Ring is during the Radagon fight where he starts throwing particles in every direction, that’s when it feels 10fps to me. If it gets that bad and stays there for too long, than big oof!
