Great comparison, I played a little further in quality mode and in the main hub area on Kohdo you get a traversal stutter every few seconds (annoying) but in the graph in this video it shows exactl when this happens, framerate dips to 29 for a second. This is only noticeable in the main hub area for me, as soon as you venture into one of the surrounding area it disappeas, other than that it runs perfectly fine as you can see in the video.
Maybe Microsoft needs to spend billions on buying a decent Tools development team. Itâs seems like thatâs the answer for everything X Box these days, we need to buy a outside outfit.
This makes console 30 fps gaming very tempting
I am very hopeful that Starfield will be the most polished BGS game at launch yet. Especially with how long theyâve worked on it, but also engineers helping out. Hopefully the most stable too. A locked 30fps.
It may not have been very smooth last June, but when it comes out in September this year it will have been almost 1.5 year of extra polishing time.
I feel bad for PC gamers. Weâll see how Xbox/Bethesda fair with them here. Sure you can argue it started with Hi-Fi, but since everyone always hit reset with Xbox like it can be one month without first-party title and everyone will say it has no games, weâll see how Redfall fair with everything else.
The funniest part of PC gaming is thereâs always some guy ready to post âthis game runs smoothly on my rig with 64gb of ram & an rtx 4090 so I donât know what you complainers are talking aboutâ.
Iâm sure there are Star Wars videos popping up right now on youtube showing exactly that scenario.
The odd thing is, PC Gamer did give a really good score for Jedi, only for now to complain about the performance. TLOU review mentioned the performance and received low score. Where were they for this game?
PCGamer has really become a truly strange place lately. Weirdly inconsistent and lots of âhot takesâ. I guess its become largely irrelevant too since you just look at steam review rather than that place.
Different reviewers.
Most sites rotate reviewers, it isnât the same person for every single one so you get a bunch of different opinions on how they review a game.
Iâd add REmake 4 on this list as well after the latest patch. ![]()
PC folks really have a rough time lately which sucks big time, the weird thing is that looking at this image those are games that are based on 4 (are Wild Hearts and Wo Long the same engine?) different engines so itâs not that only UE powered games are having issues. Hopefully Redfall and Starfield run great as MS has a very good track record with their PC versions.
PC gaming peaked in early 2010s. Hardware was cheap, console ports looked better than on PS3/360 even on low settings. Even early last gen, the entry level GPU Geforce 750Ti beat PS4 and cost âŹ150-âŹ180.
Now PC ports are horribly unoptimized and hardware got crazy expensive, entry level GPUs cost âŹ400, itâs absolutely screwed up compared to how things used be.
Pretty much why I jumped ship honestly. Anecdotal but working more from home I donât want to sit in front of my PC either after a long day at work.
I do want to add, its still a monster market, steamdb numbers are insane if you can get the ports right.
Like on consoles, software is king, in early 2010s, a lot of AAAâs were dodging PC, i can think just in the last year and a half, Halo, Forza Horizon, TLOU, Returnal, Spiderman and Miles Morales, UNcharted 4, God of War (and more i am missing) are games i wouldnât be able to play on PC if it was 2010âs era.
Yea PC got more expensive, and some games take 1-2 extra months to work properly, but if thatâs the price for being able to play whatâs on every single platform in the best possible state, and not having to buy a PC, a Xbox, a PS5 and a Switch to have to play everything, i am sure pretty much everyone will prefer this.
Also an interesting point, if say xbox closed down I wouldnât move to PS. I would jut go back to PC Gaming. Its always a little rough at first but gets better after patches.
Eh couldnât care less about most of those games you listed.
PC is still the best platform around, thereâs been some innovations thatâs made it even better since then (eg. the new category of handheld gaming PCs), some classic PC genres have been successfully revived. Iâm just annoyed at the pricing of the hardware currently and the state of PC releases - itâs very rare you can play a new game hitch-free, polished releases (like Hi-Fi Rush or Dead Island 2) are exceptions.
Not much to do other than not to buy broken releases, I guess.
PC is great if you have the money . I much rather consoles, more so Xbox
currently just having a good game with no performance issue on PC could be a hit on PC platform
I like to think : TLOU is so bad itâs good, and Jedi is so bad itâs bad.
But I wonderâŚ
What footage did they show weeks before release? I believe IGN First had a few videos and it looked great, smooth. I really thought that was PC. Guess thatâs doubtful. Probably was PS5.
