Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Oh man your takes can be hot AF…“very disappointed with Requiem’s visuals because the rocks and foliage don’t gel and there’s noise”, I don’t think I ever saw that take again.

If we (as a community) came to a point where we consider Requiem’s visuals “very disappointing” and “noisy” then I don’t know how to respond to that…like for real.

Dude. I’m just a guy who plays video games. I can’t help but notice some games do foliage and rocks better than others. If we “as a community” can’t admit these things… then I don’t know what to say? I’m pretty sure the environmental artists working on games have a decent idea themselves about how to improve things. And yeah, games like Indiana Jones are a real step up in late 2024 compared to games released earlier this gen.

For a long time people were saying “when does real next-gen start?”, well it’s apparent to me that Indiana Jones is absolutely a flagship graphical tentpole release for the Series X.

Good on John! Tell these clowns.

I’m guessing they’re talking about Indy and the circle? It’s kind of dumb to be hating on it considering it’s coming to PS5 next year, like they should just be bragging about how great it will look on PS5pro(or higher res or something) as long as PSSR isn’t badly implemented(I feel machine games is going to skip the use of it).

I recocgnize that guy from years ago, he (and i dont say this lightly) is the most moronic fanboy. I dont know why people even acknowledge him.

“FSR Shimmer” in a game with no upscaling for AMD (if this is for Indy)

He’s probably talking about the PS5 PSSR rendering of Indy

Yup, it’s about Indy.

Well said and people need to remember it came out over 2 years ago and would been developed during COVID lockdowns

I bet the team tech has advanced now 2 year down the line and with all teams back in the office

Not quite as good, as in at times worse than base PS5.

For anyone that doesn’t want to engage with Twitter.

I don’t know at this point whether the disaster is PS5 Pro in particular or AI upscaling in general.

Oliver really put on the kid gloves for this Hogwarts video. Trying to sound as upbeat as possible meanwhile the footage looks disastrous.

Not surprised at all that Alex is the only one willing to unambiguously call out PSSR as just being bad.

The game looks stunning. I just like to walk around the world like I did on my friends PC with the remake of Riven and just soak it all up

I’ll still be playing in the performance mode, but I have to admit, the improvements in the 30 FPS mode are extremely impressive.

I watched this because I don’t want to see too much of the game. I watched the quality bit briefly and then the performance bit briefly.

I hope the 40fps mode provides a good balance of resolution and framerate because if not I will go for quality mode. Nowadays I sit quite close to my 65 inch A95K and I see a very significant difference in terms of crispness between quality and performance.

Steam deck was relatively weak when it was new, so this was inevitable.
