Haven’t watched it yet. But didn’t they say about the demo that it had an edge over PS5 on XSX? Do they cover that here too? Because of course. I like that, but it’s interesting since FF16 was worse in some ways for…reasons.
So…what the hell is going on with the PS5 Pro version of Pragmata? where are the shadows? also it looks like it has less aliasing but it’s definitely blurrier than the base PS5.
Kingdom Come Deliverance received a free update today for PS5 and Xbox Series with significant visual improvements.
Virtually all visual aspects of the game have been improved. Textures, lighting, geometry, draw distance. The graphical leap is huge.
The next-gen version offers the ability to enable or disable some HD textures in order to ensure stable 60fps.
Load times have also been improved, being 4 times faster on PS5 compared to PS4.
Where other companies would have charged us for this improvement, Warhorse is giving us an excellent update, crowning it as one of the best I’ve seen.
To me, improvements are very subtle if you didn’t play the game in a long time, but it’s a really good update, at the very least for the framerate and resolution bump.
That last point is very wrong, as Microsoft and multiple other companies have done so already. Warhorse is just catching up to the already set standard.
That’s ElAnalistaDeBits opinion. He’s doing a lot of graphical comparison, so he has some kind of expertise I guess, but yeah, it’s the bare minimum for most people. I think it’s a good update though. There’s nothing to say, really, the game looks and plays great now.
TLDR: PS5 version is good but mostly inferior to Series X. Just slightly, not by a lot. PS5 Pro version is underwhelming and mostly just brings the performance to parity with Series X. John and Oliver are very positive about the game itself though.
I wonder if there’s any particular reason that the PS5 port doesn’t shine, or if Obsidian just didn’t put a lot of effort into it past getting it to an okay state. Kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy XVI but in reverse.
The game is in-line with how the actual system specs are. If they’re not happy with the performance, they need to place the blame appropriately on the hardware specs.
Xbox Series X performs better in UE5, pretty much every time. It’s a fundamental thing in how the system was built. DF seems to refuse to acknowledge that basic fact.
I’m guessing the mesh shading pulls through on Xbox? Probably an advantage in Nanite optimization. The weird thing though is not that SX performs better than PS5, that should be the case anyway, but the Pro is weird. I wonder if the development side of that is not really in a good state for most developers to really take advantage of the enhancements
PS5 is the weaker console plus UE5 (as Jesse says many times) performs better on the SX so I guess the PS5 version is in line with how things should’ve been on pretty much every multiplatform game out there from the start of the gen? Sony is lucky to be the lead platform for almost every studio since the start of this gen and this is why PS5 is having similar to SX performance-wise versions…and even with this bottleneck SX still sometimes through brute force runs the games better.
