Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

We can assume that yeah, there’s a deal going on to make sure PS5pro is the best version(which would take time from optimization and modes work on the base consoles, even though they’re the ones that sold the most) and in the case of the Switch 2 with RE9, Capcom is trying to go for their Japanese user base.

I can confirm tearing is very bad. It has an update today so I’ll check. Game is super fun besides these issues.

Don’t know when I will buy the game or even play it, as currently I’m playing through Replaced and I’m looking towards Pragmata as my next likely game after Replaced.

The out door big baby fight was tested and the frame rates on Series consoles mostly stayed in the mid to low 50’s so VRR should smooth that out as well.

Yeah the SX version has slightly inferior image quality but it has an advantage of 10+ frames over the PS5 which as you already said would be more than fine with VRR enabled, PS5 actually can’t hold 60fps even in the performance mode and in battle it drops in the 40s.

Also the Series S version looks like a very decent version of the game, way better than what DF described in their “analysis”…it definitely does NOT have the same graphical settings as the Switch 2 version for starters (textures and especially shadows are better) plus the frame-rate is way better than the S2 (and even the PS5). Considering the hardware Series S version is overall pretty good I’d say.

But there’s no point in covering the SX versions because they are identical to the PS5…am I right?

Wait? DF did Xbox coverage? Or did they just go same as Switch 2 and didn’t bother actually showing off the comparison.

They did a PS5 - Series S - Switch 2 “comparison” and of course came to the conclusion that the Series S version is somehow “worse” or “disappointing” you may say when the truth is far from that as shown in the video you posted, it’s a pretty decent version considering the hardware. They tried to portray the Switch 2 version like something very very close to the Series S (like Outlaws) when this is not the case.

And of course they didn’t cover the Series X version and we all can understand why.

The Outlaws video was weird, as they went out if their way to show them side by side, show that the Switch 2 version had more cut backs and just said they’re the same.

Exactly, they did that with Pragmata too while at the same time (for whatever reason) the higher frame-rate of Series S is not something that “important”. Remember the times when they were recommending a PS4 Pro version of a game because the One X version dropped 2-3 frames (at 2x or 4x the resolution) or when they bitched about the backwards compatible games on SX that also dropped 2 frames in one occasion? well then better performance mattered now it apparently doesn’t.

They think that people have the memory of a goldfish…the goalposts are always getting moved where they need them to be. lol

Unfortunately they have gone even further away from any actual analysis to provide subjective commentary that is not backed by actual evidence or footage. The way they use adjectives is a crime for a “technical analysis” provider.

After watching OhNoIt’sAlex video about Digital Foundry talking about PC gaming and comparing it to the PS5 Pro, I realized that no one should be wasting their time on Digital Foundry as they know nothing. Even I know more about PC gaming than Rich, John and Ollie do which is sad since my knowledge is minimal. Even worse is that the PC guy they have (Alex) wasn’t even in the discussion. Gee, I wonder why.

Anyway, watching DeBits comparison, the frame rate on Series X in performance mode is a locked 60FPS 98% of the time and when it drops, it’s only a few frames. Very much looking forward to starting Pragmata either tomorrow or Monday. Haven’t decided which day yet.

It’s interesting to see Digital foundry not getting early access to Forza Horizon 6, I feel there’s been a general shift from Xbox away from them, with good reason I’d say. That GT7 and FM comparison video was like watching someone trying to convince me of something my eyes weren’t seeing, maybe Turn 10 hasn’t forgotten.

So, according to a new Digital Foundry video the PS5 version of Pragmata has a bug where if you play on the Pro. Next time the game loads it can be at 1440p, causing the issues with the FPS on performance mode.

Hilarious bug with the game. Frankly something DF should have caught before releasing their video.

So now the two should have identical image quality, right, right?

Putting it here as it’s a comparison of the graphics at least.

The remake looks beautiful, that being said the original game still looks quite nice for a 360 game. I haven’t played an Assassin’s Creed game since AC2 but Black Flag always looked interesting to me because of it’s setting and theme even though I never got around to check it out. If the remake doesn’t have the rpg grind that the latest AC games have I’ll definitely play this one.

It does make me wonder how much the Xbox One version changed in comparison to 360 version or if they’re the same just with higher res.

Black Flag resynched looks awesome and is day one for me!!! Hyped!!!

It is higher res with better textures and frame-rate on Xbox One e.t.c. but it’s still a gen 7 game tech wise (360 level of shaders , lighting e.t.c).
