Engagement is what Google/YouTube wants above all else, even if it’s dislikes.

They’ve cultivated an audience that doesn’t stand seeing Xbox, in any video that’s Xbox centered or positive about an Xbox thing or game, you can see the dislikes pretty apparent. Can’t say that’s not on them though :person_shrugging:

Yep, & they’re just pandering to the PS mob, it’s beyond pathetic…

Well they do say that, all dressed up in a load of “reasons” for it. But the real message is clear.

Seems to me that pinning the lack of Xbox coverage on audience share is just a self fulfilling prophecy. If you never meaningfully cover Xbox versions your Xbox audience will drop off.

If as they claim numerous times in the video PS5 and Series X versions are so similar no comparison is needed a more sensible approach would be to alternate coverage as it makes no difference which one you look at as results will be equivalent and “no one cares about comparisons”.

A more credible approach to address their concerns around audience mix would just be to drop all Xbox coverage and say it’s because it doesn’t make them enough money. But of course if they did that they would have to stop the negative Xbox coverage they do that does get them high engagement.

Watching a DS2 path tracing mod coverage and unfortunately it adds extra stuff that wasn’t in the game, like look at the extra amount of foliage in the water. There’s also a scene inside the armor salesman’s house that I think it looks off? maybe it’s the stone next to the character but it makes me think it’s not working properly. Also yes, the skirt actually does have that extra detail, I zoomed in and noticed it, but I have to wonder if it’s not also touched up by the mod.

The lighting in the PT is also too cool for my taste as it removes the warmer looking lighting in the picture.

For the most part, I think it’s making light sources warmer, but one of the darkest area in the game seems to have been skipped for the shadows section. Which would have been a better test imo, as we need to light the area up as we proceed.

Testing GI in the Shrine of Amana opening section and the water loses the dark filter that makes it hard to see the enemies in the water and now they’re all visible. My guess is the modder is adding or removing stuff that is to their taste and removing the dark filter is part of it.

Series X benefits most from it. By far. With the highest resolution and such.

Pretty quick to abandon their PS5 is pretty much Xbox stance huh?

Edit: Sorry just being a bit petty.

That’s what I was thinking as well. lol

It’s possible this was one they did early, likely got early access; I haven’t watched, so it was still before they said no more Xbox analysis. But the update to fix the textures wasn’t to long ago.

I’m guessing it’s that because they didn’t cover Xbox for Crimson Desert at all and they did for PS5.

They still said they wouldn’t cover it at all, so seeing it done is a bit of a slideback.

Starfield PS5 vs PS5 Pro Final Graphics Comparison:

  • Starfield launched today on PS5 with several modes and improvements for both the standard PS5 and PS5 Pro.
  • The standard PS5 has two display modes: Quality and Performance. The PS5 Pro also has a third mode called Enhanced.
  • The Enhanced mode on PS5 Pro uses a standard resolution of 2160p, while Quality and Performance modes run at 1440p and 1080p, respectively.
  • All modes on PS5 Pro use PSSR, and PS5 uses FSR.
  • The PS5 Pro’s Enhanced mode does not offer significant visual improvements over Quality mode. I have noticed a slight improvement in shadows and ambient occlusion.
  • It should be noted that due to the CPU demands of this game, neither platform is capable of maintaining 60fps in areas with a high density of assets or NPCs.
  • The PS5 Pro can reach close to 90 fps in some areas with the frame rate unlocked and VRR enabled. In these same areas, the PS5 can reach 70 fps.
  • We can disable Vsync and unlock the frame rate in all modes on the PS5 Pro. However, this is only possible in the PS5’s Performance mode.

Starfield PS5 - PS5 Pro - Xbox Series X - PC Graphics Comparison:

  • Starfield features 2 display modes on PS5/XSX and 3 on PS5 Pro.
  • For this video, the PS5 Pro’s “Enchanted” mode was used. For more information on the other 2 modes, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE01Bg7V-jc
  • The PC version runs with all settings maxed out and 4K as a reference.
  • The XSX runs at a lower average resolution than the PS5 in Performance mode, but outperforms the Sony console by 5–10 fps in some areas.
  • The most notable difference between modes is in the level of terrain detail, which is slightly lower in Performance mode.
  • All PS5 Pro modes use PSSR, while the PS5 uses FSR.
  • The PS5 Pro’s Enhanced mode offers no significant visual improvements over Quality mode. I was able to notice a slight improvement in shadows and ambient occlusion.
  • It should be noted that due to the CPU demands of this game, none of the three platforms is capable of maintaining 60fps in areas with a high density of assets or NPCs.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 Pro, with its new Ray-Tracing Pro mode, improves lighting quality through ray tracing for shadows, global illumination, and some reflections.
  • Compared to the PC version, the shadows and reflections (which do use ray tracing) are very close to the highest PC settings.
  • Global illumination, on the other hand, still favors the PC in terms of ray tracing and path tracing, where the difference is even more noticeable.
  • For performance testing, an RTX 5060 Ti was used with settings similar to those of the PS5 Pro, with the exception of ray-traced reflections, which are applied to all surfaces on the PC.
  • As a result, the PS5 Pro can perform slightly better than this GPU without using Frame Generation. On the other hand, the RTX 5060 Ti can run path tracing, something that isn’t possible on the PS5.
  • As for PSSR and DLSS at 1440p, both are pretty much on par in terms of image quality.

Nothing mindblowing for a 900$ console. It’s cool if you have it, but you better wait for the next consoles or just play on PC.
