It’s not going to hit the 90+ of old shooters but decently surprise to see that so far the review split is pretty good.
We just have to wait and see if it stays that way.
Great review thanks, really looking forward to playing this shortly!
I do enjoy remakes that as you say, make the game match our memories - GoldenEye is one I remembered as amazing looking, then played it years later and hated the controls and by look it had aged poorly, similar to MGS1.
While Mass Effect: Legendary Edition made a brilliant set of games look really good and improved things just enough - I think this remake goes further and fixes and expands the best of Halo 1, which is exactly what I’d want
Great read! I look forward to play the new missions. @Sikamikanico
Not that far. PC seems the most critical. Are there unexpected problems there? I’m surprised in general that it’s at the low 80s on Xbox and PS. Halo Infinite has a higher meta score (87 xbox and 80 PC)
I could read the lower scored reviews and see what they didn’t like (the lowest on PC last I checked was 60), but I don’t think that would work since I don’t like Halo CE and a remake isn’t going to change that for me.
I’m on Assault on the Control Room - and enjoying it a lot. There are some major changes to flow of things in some of the levels (prison area in Truth and Reconciliation is a big one and I’m not 100% on board with it, but I guess it changed things up a little) - and it’s too easy to jump down to the overshield in Silent Cartographer without taking any damage trying - but it looks like they removed the ability to jump down the cliff in Assault on the Control Room. Supposedly you can get it back through mods, but that seems like an odd choice.
