Hogwarts Legacy |OT|

I’m not really a fan of Harry Potter, my GF is though and I want to play and enjoy this game with her, that’s all I care about.

The author should get whatever she is due, I just want to enjoy this game and the universe with my partner, the game shouldn’t suffer the acts of the author.

Absolutely and I didn’t mean to suggest it wasn’t. But an individual can convince themselves nothing is political if they choose not to invest their own conscience or apply a bit of empathy.

This is a very sensitive topic. I think it is fair if you just want to play Harry Potter and are okay playing the game in spite of JKR. However, dismissing the concerns of others and downplaying the damage of JKR’s comments is absolutely not okay. Have empathy for others and how they may feel or may be impacted by what she has said and done.

Politics is everywhere its a piece of art with a story, of course, there are “politics” within it.

Rowlings Books written as “Robert Galbraith” a (name coincidentally similar to “Robert Galbraith Heath” a Physican who worked on Gay conversion therapy by using electroshock treatment) manages to coincidently be as transphobic as she herself. Again purely coincidental I am sure, as books can be no more political that any other media.

And if people wish to discuss the escapism and beasts etc then they are not being prevented from doing so. It seems most (if not all) the arguments happening are after people specifically talking about the aspects they don’t want to talk about I haven’t seen anyone getting annoyed at teasers being posted or people mentioning that they’ve been reading it with children.

If you (the royal you not you specifically) wish to discuss the wondrous lore of the Wizarding world then you can, we’ve discussed the main actors of the series and spoken fondly of them, so we can have a conversation as free from “Politics” (spoiler that conversation was political) and Rowling all it takes is not to simply post “why must we talk about politics, games should be apolitical” or “I don’t care about SJW’s” or “Learn to separate the art from the artist” as all of those statements will, believe it or not make people want to discuss those claims further.

I remember writing a parody story on Harry Potter some years ago (10+ years) and later attempted to adapt it to modern times and translate into english. It had stuff like

  • Lord Voldemort → Lord Nobody (He-is-Nothing), allowing to create funny convesations (Nothing is here, Nobody is here, He said Nothing)
  • Albus Dumbledore → Autograph Winnipeg
  • Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry → Hogwash Prison School of Wizardy and Bad Habits, where students were living in cells etc.

I never finished the adaptation to English, but maybe I will do it one day.

Wow did not know that about the author name she uses, bit more than a coincidence!!

  1. People should be made aware of what their spending supports. Everyone has a line, and I won’t begrudge people for not having the same one as me. They should still have the information made available, especially in a case like this one where the shitty person is actively causing pain and misery.

  2. You can just ignore trolls by clicking on their profiles, don’t waste your emotional bandwidth.

  1. On the off chance that you’re dealing with ignorance instead of malice, remember that it isn’t your job to educate people. By all means, go for it if you’re up for it but please prioritize your mental health and well-being.

This and Starfield…what else could you need around that time?

I probably only bother with Starfield though and later Hogwarts.

So basically it is Bully meets Fable.

Some devs are really stepping up their game, Elden Ring, this game… I can only imagine what Starfield will bring.

Holiday 2022. Skeptical. Will it be Halo Infinite 2020 or 2021? In other words, won’t happen vs will happen.

I won’t be surprised if it is delayed. But can become another GOTY contender for sure. 2022 is gonna be amazing if everything expected is gonna be released.
