The game looks ok and it seems set in a big and varied world to explore, with a lot of things to do and great customisation
But the gameplay seems very stationary and kinda… boring? I don’t know, I expected something more dynamic. The enemies seemed to be attacking one by one and the animations seemed cluncky.
Plus, if I think about Hogwarts I think about Harry Potter and his story. Here, I was like… what’s the story, what is the narrative? It’s an RPG but I have yet to understand if it will have choices/consequences, multiple dialogue options, branching story…
I don’t know, I’m still unsure. It’s more like the game tries to be an “Hogwarts Simulator” rather than being a wizard adventure.
Shit man, now I want a Bully 2 with these kind of visuals. Knowing Rockstar it would look even better in terms of details. They kinda, slightly got my hopes up for a Bully 2 with that rumor from Tom Henderson early this year…but it’s dead Jim, sigh.
I am really impressed at this state of play, can’t discount how many feel about JK Rowling but I am mighty impressed at the amount of care and passion has gone into this game. It looks truly like the world of Hogwarts come to life, it’s really impressive. I wish more developers took this sort of approach when making a game from an outside media (im looking at your DBZ: Kakarot).
With that said, the actual battles look underwhelming, but the vast amount of stuff you can do looks awesome, having to go to classes and learn is really cool. I’ll keep an eye out for this, color me intrigued.
On the Xbox One listing of the game, it says “Requires Internet” on the bottom. Is this going to be a live service/GaaS? Also, did they just hide that from everybody in the State of Play?
Amazing showing. This game is everything I dreamed of as a kid and more. I’m predicting 20 million sales in its first month if launches without technical problems.
