Damn, I guess I’m wrong and Ms is killing the golden goose.
Jokes aside, I do hope halo gets much better care in whatever hands it ends up, and I do believe it could rival cod, on Xbox at least, people that used to play either cod or halo during the PS3 / 360 days, can probably remember halo used to rival cod on its own.
Don’t do this. His GT also has a # after it, meaning it’s on the newer Xbox Live platform.

Cool. Didnt know that was a thing.
As a counter I find it whack that some will try to paint a product as a failure because they don’t like the studio. Especially when the criteria of success is akin to “outgross Avatar” or you suck.
Agreed man, definitely not the kind of stuff you’d want to read. It seems out of the blue too, don’t know, just didn’t expect this.
What’s going to matter is how 2023 will be for them. We’re getting the Direct next week, should give us release dates on the three games and of course most importantly the Starfield show that probably won’t be long after. Hope they can all come out in the time period they were announced to be and that would go a long way. Then a strong E3 that gives us a good idea what we can expect in the upcoming months. That sounds like a good year to me.
“Campaign dlc” might be an odd term that is complicating things. There might have been plans to make a new campaign that technically functions as DLC or that releases stand alone, or any number of things.
I’m definitely staying away from YouTube for a couple of days. Sure, it’s not great news. But you got channels calling it grim news for Xbox, terrible. If I didn’t know any better I’d think Xbox was ending.
Come the fuck on. Yep, timeout from all that for me.
Take a step back and think if Halo Infinite itself had a ten-year plan OR Halo Infinite was meant to be the start of what they had planned for the next ten years of Halo itself? There is a difference between the two.
Everybody ran with the ‘Halo Infinite had a 10-year roadmap’ narrative when that IGN(?) article came out with the headline, but 343i may have never meant that at all in the first place.
If you’re seeing that stuff you’re following the wrong channels
People also really need to get over the whole 10 year plan thing, it was said by a man that quit/got replaced over a year before the game even came out
Yeah, it does not mean that it is necessarily true. It could have been scrapped after Joe Staten came to 343i. Like @KakkaKarrotKake said, it was uttered by Chris Lee before he got fired.
Not having a new campaign in development barely a YEAR after the previous Halo game released makes sense though. There is always conception/pre-production phase before the actual development, which is part of the full dev cycle as well. It is possible that ideas were being passed around for the next campaign, but ultimately got scrapped. Following this point, Jason Schrier’s post does not necessarily disprove the thread from Bathrobe Spartan.
