While possible , highly doubted since so far it has only being announced to be integrated with Bing/Outlook search queries and Azure.

I’m sure the bonuses Satya, Phil, etc get arent getting affected at all. As always.

Unfortunately this is happening across the tech industry. Think it’s like an estimated 40k people in the last couple of months. All about appeasing shareholders which sucks

layoffs before announcing (record) revenue and profits always rubs me the wrong way.

Microsoft has 10k ā€˜coasters’? Wtf. Why insult people losing their jobs? Have some empathy or shut up.

Let’s not refer to folks about to lose their jobs as ā€œCoastersā€ please.

While it sucks to see people get laid off, those 10k employees likely get a decent severance package to get them through the next 3 to 6 months

Holy cow, Batman, that’s a word salad. That reads like an essay in school with a word count floor, and the student was 200 words away from the count so the student just threw adjectives and random sentences into the essay to make the word count floor.

It also says absolutely nothing new. We all knew that the FTC is out on a ledge looking to use section 5 to expand their powers.

This person doesnt appear to understand the market for subscription services or the fact that cloud gaming is not a seperate market, its just provided as part of subscription services (by Microsoft and their competitors in subscription services).

Maybe get back on topic instead of trying to justify this bullshit…

It’s the 1 year anniversary of the acquisition getting announced.

I think there should be a separate topic about layoffs because it doesn’t have anything to do with the acquisition.

Agreed, not to mention that Nick’s assertion that a normal (albiet crappy) occurance in the tech industry will have any optics on the ABK deal is misguided. This has zero relavance to the acquisition.

None of this has anything to do with the ABK acquisition.

I’m going to be cleaning this thread up now, keep it on topic and RESPECTFUL

Some sites are apparently reporting Crash Team Rumble is scheduled for an April 4th release. I don’t think this seem particularly credible but in the spirit of a new topic I figured i’d post it.

I don’t know if this is something they wanted to make or if Activision was pushing them to get that GaaS money or a bit of both but I get the feeling this game is gonna bomb and not for a lack of talent on Toys for Bobs part. I’m kind of hopeful whenever this game comes out it’s after the acquisition closes, I’d rather Microsoft let them move on and make the sorts of games they want to make (and hopefully they want to make Crash 5 ahem) than see what Activision would do with them if the game tanks.

I don’t want to keep talking about the layoffs here, but Jason Scherier literally followed up the news with talking about the anniversary of the ABK deal, in the very same tweet.

He knows exactly what he is doing and the kind of audience he invites to his tweets. It’s crazy.

Jasons been bitter about the deal since it was announced. He hates that Xbox is going to be Kings of CoD!

Exactly! Yet when it’s time to ask when Final Fantasy is coming back to Xbox it’s crickets from him
