I can see Sony keeping detachable disc drives on their store as an add on. So now you’ll pay whatever base price for the PS6 and then if you bought any physical PS4 games have to pay another 50 to 100 for the disc drive.

No way Microsoft doesn’t seize the opportunity to cut disc production with less backlash. They could and should highlight how a digital purchase on Xbox has more value with Xbox Play Anywhere and free cloud saves. Seriously, if we’re forcing all digital then Playstation at least needs free cloud saves.

Yeah, if these are the sorts of move Sony starts making, MS needs to seize the opportunities, although seeing how they’ve been acting lately, I do wonder if they still have anyone there with the capacity to do so. Wonder if Asha and Matthew Ball have what it takes to bring the “console wars” back in some fashion like Peter Moore did back in the 360 days.

Funny in hindsight though, seems like XBOX was right all along, just over a decade early…

Microsoft seems far more interested in cost cutting than anything else.

And yeah hindsight. Story of Xbox’s and Microsoft’s life. The problem is that they can’t stick to their own guns, so it often doesn’t even matter how old projects were thought up at Microsoft

Like everyone else, including PS, which probably cut physical division in this round.
