Psychonauts 2 |OT| From the great minds at Double Fine

Quite possibly the most pretty level so far for me. It was so unique even within Psychonauts lol.

So am I at the point of no return before being locked into endgame?

Just got down with PSI King and working on the going into Mail Room Ford’s mind for the third piece of his mind

Apparently there’s a ton of post-game content as well?

I was at that point on Sunday. I think after where you’re at now was 1 more physical location(s) and 2 more mind(s). I moved on from there and played another 3-4 hours before getting to the next “point of no return”. It seems like there’s 3 more story-driven achievements after that.

Think the only level flow I havent really enjoyed much is this Bob Zanotto one. Having to move around the little sea and making sure Im not missing anything is irking me lol.

I finished that just last night and I already forgot about it, it took me a while to remember what it was. Yes, you are completely right – The Boss Battle there is not good. I don’t know if I ever really got the mechanics down as to how it should or was meant to be played before finishing it. Narrative Combat to the rescue!

It felt as bad as the forced bike segments in other games.

Once you figure it out there’s only 2 lanes and the stuff in the middle is just so you time your crossings to gather health it works much better. But at the start its like: “why the hell this boat doesn’t stay where I’m pointing it to?”

woo hoo!

Post the 1000 gs pic.

You guys are inspiring me to go for 1000.

Same, totally going for the 1000 now. I LOVE THIS GAME

Is there any decent means of figuring out which Figment(s) you’re missing? I haven’t seen any Guides that coordinate what shows in your Figments list from the map page and where they are. I only see lengthy videos, which is a bit of a hassle to follow along 1 to 1.

Pretty sure you missed some of the squiggly ones that are green,or blue, or pink. Just keep looking

None of the guides I’ve seen break it down by specific figment location. Best advice is take your time and check every nook and cranny. You can get everything in one go on a few of the levels. Always remember to look above you in every area you’re in. There are a bunch of figments that can easily be missed because they are high up near the ceiling or floating in the sky in an area you wouldn’t think to look up in.

I used this guys videos to get a pick up the stragglers.

Use the chapters to better help skim through the video. If you’re super thorough on the first run its easier to skim the videos and pick up on the areas and rooms you missed.

I’m doing a fairly decent job on collecting things during the first level play through. I have 5 minds and 1 location all with Green Checks.

However in a few sections I have a small handful of figments missing. For instance, in Cassie’s Collections I was short 1 Figment and I was pretty positive I got them all. I just found it now, ended up being one off to the side needing a double jump off the ledge to the left. Guess I missed that jump the first time through cause I remember seeing it and going for it.

I know I’ll clean things up after I finish up the story, but was really hoping for a more directive collection guide(s). I understand why one doesn’t exist, because it’s a lot of work to sort from the Figments Map and where they are in the level.

Finished the story at just past 25 hours playtime.

The platforming needed tightening up, I wasn’t a fan of the weird character designs & some of the levels had a tendency to run on just a touch too long.

Apart from those wee complaints, I really enjoyed this game. It was a whole lot of fun. The level of creativity on display was very impressive, with the colourful visual design & varied gameplay sequences. The story was unexpectedly thoughtful & emotionally satisfying.

Overall I had a great time. Will definitely be checking out some more of Double Fine’s work now :+1:

Im about to wrap up the game shortly but I think this game has to be up there as one of the best sequels of all time tbh.

Doesnt mean I dont have some minor issues with it but coming off the first game its just :violin:

Great level!
