I hope they bring in new improvements by having a native next gen version. I remember being very disappointed by not having specific Series X support.

First Genshin Impact, now PUBG- when did the generations line get drawn?

either the userbase for those specific games isn’t big enough on the older systems to keep supporting it with updates, or their are specific upgrades that just can’t run on older systems. At least, those would be my guess.

I wasn’t aware Genshin had dropped support as well. They even raised mobile requiremenrs Maybe Fortnite is coming up too?

I guess it’s just been half a decade. People have had enough time to upgrade and hardware requirements are getting tighter. Crazy to think that the PS4/Xbox One held on as long as they did. We’ll probably see the firm transition over to Series/PS5 this holiday through 2026. Which is again a crazy concept because the next “generation” (the idea of gaming generations feels outdated now) will come around by 2028 at the latest. Xbox is rumored to be targeting 2026 or 2027. They probably really should try to hit 2026 because I’m not sure they’ll get better chance to get upgrades. Otherwise I’ll be really curious how next “gen” handles user adoption. I only assume that the Series & PS5 consoles will hold on longer and if a big chunk only upgrades 2 - 3 years before the next generation releases, then it’ll be even harder convincing them to upgrade.

Possibly getting drawn with GTA6. Most of these end of support won’t kick in until 2026. That’s a very respectable 12 years.
