RUMOR: Death Stranding 2 May Be Coming to Xbox Very Soon

On the official game hub for Death Stranding: Director’s Cut in the Xbox store, there’s an upcoming event titled “BEYOND THE STRAND” that’s scheduled to take place between October 30, 2026 and December 20, 2026. This event has been tagged as an “announcement” and a “world event,” which implies that something new will be revealed here.

The event that’s mentioned in this game hub seems to be a reference to the upcoming Kojima Productions’ 10th Anniversary Exhibition that’s set to take place at Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo, Japan later this year. Like said event, the exhibition in question is also going to be open between late October and mid-December, and it, too, is titled “BEYOND THE STRAND.”

I’ve seen that yesterday. It’s not much, but it’s weird that it appeared on the Xbox Hub in the Event section.

Oh dang LOL. I JUST completed the first game. It was awesome but not sure I’m ready to dive into another 100 hours of delivering so soon!

Walking Simulator 2.0!! I’m ready!

I wish they dropped it out of nowhere with a discount like Death Stranding 1 on Xbox. That would be awesome!

I still have to install the first one and start with it, and I bought it at launch for Xbox. I need more time for these games bro!!!

Great news, loved the first one!

It’s a rumor, as there’s nothing really indicating an imminent release, but it would be weird to put an event on the Xbox Hub and then nothing happens.

But the Death Stranding Hub have also been heavily used on Xbox by Kojipro for polls and community stuff, so we’ll see.

If PS has the same deal with Kojima that they did for the first one it might take until June 2030 for the Xbox version. :downcast_face_with_sweat: Hopefully that’s not the case.

Yeah, but I don’t think they have the same deal. It released on PC already and the first one released on Steam 2 years after the original PS4 release, so it’s already different. :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers:

Nice. Good reason to expect the Xbox port sooner!

I wouldn’t waste your time with this overrated game. Its a complete bore fest & where Hellblade 2 is better & even that had too much walking & talking LOL

I was in the same boat before I played it. The bizarre atmosphere, the planning of your trips, the exploration, interactivity and connectivity, the multiple ways you can travel and the way the game makes carrying boxes fun is awesome. There’s no other game that feels like Death Stranding.

It’s not for everyone, obviously, but if you know what you’re getting into, it’s definitely one of the best Kojima games. I would even say it’s better than MGS V, as it’s actually a finished product.

You’re right, it’s a unique and singular game in every respect. It feels like a throwback in a way to an earlier, lower stakes era of video game development where creators were free to follow whatever weird idea as far as it led them. But this is like the AAA budget version of that.

I had it off my kids for my PS5 Pro & while it looks utterly amazing, I found the game boring & dull. I wasn’t a big fan of Hellblade 2, but it was better than this.

Two games that couldn’t be more different, I don’t get the comparison. Personally I came close to loving the first DS until a certain mission where I had to save Fragile (iirc) and was super frustrating and dumb so I left with a very bitter taste.

It looks boring to play, for sure. But I just love the simplicity of just finding your route from point A to point B. It’s kind of relaxing to play, like it’s refreshing to not have complex mechanics and being bombarded with informations every split second.

It can get complicated later on, but the safest route are always the best and it’s not something that most games will pursue in their gameplay loops. It’s kind of a cosy game in some ways and I like that.

It’s becasue as a bit of banter many seem to class both as walking simulators

I get what you’re saying & where you’re coming from. Sure the 1st DF game was very different & very unique, so I gave it a chance, but for the sequel to double down on it was a massive mistake IMO.

I felt just the same for Hellblade. The 1st game felt different & for a game to Metal Health & use the subject matter so well, was different & I gave it a chance, but for the sequel to double down on it I felt was a misstake.

TBH, I also felt there was simply too much walking & talking in GOW: Ragnarok that bored me to tears. A plague tale: Resonance for me got the perfect blend of combat/action & Story telling
